My husband says "Scratch it" . Seriously, though, he has 3 stitches on his back right now, too. I've been putting a bandaid and neosporin on it every day. It's still been a little itchy, but not bad at all. Are you putting anything on the site?

You could put a little bacitracin on to moisten the skin (and protect it from infection at the same time).

Yes, if it is healed enough that it is not bleeding or oozing, keep it moist with something that will not infect. And remember.....you are being watched!!

Somebody correct me if this is a huge no-no, I've never had stitches but when my SIL had her baby and had some in a very sensitive place and they itched, my MIL set up a blowdryer to gently blow on the stitches to help with itching... so that's my only thought.

I bet you're miserable. Hope you find relief, soon!

I would use the ointment. My ds had stitches and they told me to keep the ointment on them to keep it moist. Maybe it was because it was on his face and to prevent scarring. I don't know but he didn't complain about itching!
