Any good deals on elliptical trainers?

My husband and I want to buy an elliptical trainer and wondered if anyone had seen any great deals? We need a good one because he is 6'2" and weighs 230 pounds.

I'm looking for a good quality elliptical trainer too. I'm not finding any deals though. The best i can find is $1500 for a second hand one (ProCor) and it sold in one day. I love those things though and must have one ASAP! Good luck to you!

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've read a lot about Smooth ellipticals, that they are really good for the money. They range from $850-$1500. Have you heard of Smooth? What about Nordictrack, Proform or Reebok because Sears is offering a free companion airfare with a purchase of over $299.

I got a NordicTrac Elliptical for Xmas last year and I LOVE it. It was around $800-1,000, it was purchased at Sears. Its worth checking out Sears and even Dicks Sporting Goods, they have them as well.

Thanks for the reply! Are the NordicTrac's noisy? I read a review that said there is a plastic end piece on it that can break easily. Have you found that to be true? Thanks!

No its VERY quiet and have used it for a year now and no problems at all, as I stated above I LOVE it. I do both the treadmill and elliptical and the elliptical is much more of a workout, I'd highly recommend it! Your best bet would be to go try them out in your local stores to see what works for you in your budget.

Okay, I promise this will be my last question! Thanks for the info about the Nordic Track. The Sears in my town is VERY small (I live in Montana) and it only has treadmills so I couldn't try them out. Do you know what model yours is and whether it would withstand my husband of 230 pounds? Thanks!!!

My DH and I just bought a Nordic Trac elliptical last night at Sears for $500 (on sale, original price is $800)! This was the middle model, there was also one for $300 and $800.
