Inspired by "are you a reader" what books are you looking forward to this year

I am a huge reader and can't wait to find some additional time to read this new year (dd is 20 mons, enough said)

Just wondering what books coming in 2005 fellow DISers are looking forward to this year

Myself - Harry Potter Half Blood Prince, new books by Jonathan Kellerman and Faye Kellerman, waiting for new books from Sue Grafton, Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell, Lillian Jackson Braun and the "mitford" series books (authors name escapes me at the moment).

I know we have a lot of book lovers here, what books are you itching to read in 2005 !!!

The new Harry Potter and the continuation of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I hope Maeve Binchy has a good one soon.

Harry Potter, of course.

Also, I heard that Diana Gabaldon finished the next book in her Outlander series. I hope it comes out this year, too

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!

I also haven't gotten hold of Tamora Pierce's new one Trickster's Queen and the 3rd in the Kevin Crossley-Holland series about Arthur.

And I'm always waiting for more from Elizabeth Peters in the Amelia Peabody series, as well as Tamar Myers "Den of Antiquity" series and the "Pennsylvania-Dutch Mystery with Recipes" series!

Anne Lamott, author of "Traveling Mercies" has a new book coming out in March. The title is "Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith". I thought "Traveling Mercies" was one of the finest books I've ever read, so I'm really looking forward to this one.

Oh, and like so many others, the new Harry Potter.

I've found that I really enjoy mysteries...but the more light-hearted type - not blood & gore. When I read Tamar Myers, I'm laughing about half the time. DD often says she doesn't get how I can laugh at a book with a skull on the front.

DSis got me hooked on the Elizabeth Peters books & I think there might be 16 already in print. I have to admit I never would have started these w/o a recommendation as the storyline takes place in & around archealogical digs in Egypt around the turn of the century.

DD is into fantasy & got me started on the T. Pierce series. There are quite a few different quartets of stories. Even though they're for young adults, I've found them enjoyable.

BTW - If you enjoy light-hearted mysteries, there's another author I like: Emily Brightwell. She writes a series about a Mrs. Jeffries, who is the housekeeper for an inspector in Scotland Yard in Victoria England. I found these at the library & there are quite a few. My library stopped buying them though, so I don't know if she's still writing them.

Harry Potter 6, without a doubt. I would also like Steven Brust to write his next one a little faster!
