Another Strange But True
I am sure you guys think I live in a very strange area. First I share with you the MONSTER Squirrel. Now from the Yard of Larry comes another strange but true with a picture to prove it..
Around my house which is out in the country in Fla.
We have many wild and stray cats, well after supper tonight I went out in the yard to find a mom & dad and little Bob White's ( quail to a northerner)
anyways this family was eating in the yard when I saw a large grey cat come out of the hedge. The cat layed down, I was expecting to jump out at the right moment to get a bob white supper.. Next I know the dad and little bob white start to walk close to the cat. I am thinking OH NO but I waited and watched well go fig the cat just looked at them and did not move. the birds walked away.. then they turned around and came back at the cat. Each bird eating as they came with in a foot of the cat..
I went in and got my camera and took this picture.
They did this about 10 times and if the cat wanted all he had to do is put out his paw and he could have gotten both of them but NO. The cat just sat and watched the 2 bob whites..
Strange but true

Larry, you have your own Animal Kingdom right in your backyard!! :D
When I first looked at your pic, I thought the cat was a wolf or coyote , and that next, I'd see a pic of feathers flying everywhere...lol.
I wonder why the cat didn't bother the quails? Maybe they seemed too large for them?
It's great that you have your camera close by, ready to capture pics of the adventures going on in your yard! I wonder what will be next?
Oh dear, I just had a thought...are there any waterways close to you????

I'm happy to dance with you
I have 2 opinions
We had tried usual things to keep them away, including something like coyote urine, it is sold in hardware stores by us
