Wow, sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience! May I ask what the CM's at POFQ did to remedy your bad room?

It's over and done with, we just know not to ever go back to this resort. The CM's did very little to rectify the problems- about ALL they did was replace or fix our TV- and it took them 3 days to do that! We found the concierge desk and front desk to be very rude (and we are not rude people ourselves), so I'm not sure what the problem was. I guess I should have known better than to expect any level of service or cleanliness remotely close to that of AKL which we stayed at in 2005. I was so aggravated with our trip in April (I'm sure some of you may rememeber my long winded rant)- not just with the hotel- but alot of other issues as well- that I had thought we might not return to WDW for at least 10 years.....well, after cooling down and coming to reason, we are planning our next trip next October....I figured we had good luck in October 2005- with the crowds and deluxe hotel, why not try that again.

So we are looking for tips for recommended deluxe resorts- I had posted a thread initially.
I think we are seriously looking at WL, BWI or AKL. We would like to stay at CR, but to get a tower room view- I think it's just not in our price range.

Sorry so long winded

Wow, sorry to hear you had such a disappointing stay.

While we enjoyed POFQ, AKL remains our favorite resort. We have stayed at BW and WL, and still prefer AKL. Maybe you should consider returning there. I know the temptation to try new resorts is strong, but since you enjoyed it so much before, maybe it would be a 'safe' choice after your last stay was so unsatisfactory. I'd love to go back to AKL, it just hasn't been in the budget. We stayed there in February 2004 and January 2006. We were at WL in February 2005, and while nice, it just didn't wow us as much as AKL. We split our stay between BWV and AKL on the January 2006 trip. BWV was nice too, and being able to walk to Epcot was great, but we still prefer AKL. Bus rides from BWV were long, with the bus stopping at five different resorts most trips. I think we just love the exotic feel of AKL. We have also stayed at POR and enjoyed it a lot, more than WL even, I think. I booked POR for next year, as I liked it better than POFQ. I don't think there's any resort we've tried that we wouldn't return to though. Some I like better than others, but I didn't have a 'bad' stay at any of them.

How is the pool at FQ? We visited the resort last year while we were staying at POR and the pool seems nice. We are planning on some down time at the pool some afternoons and I wanted to get some opinions on the pool. It it helps, my party doesn't have any kids in it.

Hi Carrie. I grew up in Baltimore.

I thought the pool at POFQ was nice but I've never been to any other resorts so I can't give you a comparison. We used it a few times in the evenings (first ten days of October) and it wasn't crowded. It isn't a pool you would be able to swim laps in, but it was nice for just cooling off.

If you're just looking to relax it's great. It wouldn't work to swim laps. At most the pool is 5 ft deep. It wasn't too crowded when I was there in Sept last year and it was warm out. Neither was the hot tub, which is very secluded. I can easily imagine adults taking over that area. It's not near the pool.

We just booked POFQ for our March anniversary trip! I am sooo excited! We have stayed at Pop and AKL before but I have been wanting to try POFQ for a while. On our last trip, we dropped in and looked around this resort and were very impressed with the grounds. We were booked at Pop but we just got the new Canadian package code so we upgraded for just a little more than our original price. We will be renting a car so busses won't be an issue and we have the dining plan so we don't plan on eating in the food court very often. It will be only DH and I so POFQ sounds like a nice quiet romantic resort. Can't wait until March!!

Quick Question

Does PORFQ have rooms with trundle beds, or is that only available at POR Riverside?

Thanks!

Hi, we are staying at POFQ next year, we stayed at POR in the mansions in September and loved it, hoping we love POFQ too. POFQ was my DD choice, she chose it over the Beach Club.

My DGD loved this resort. When pressed to tell me her favorite resort she had a hard time between POFQ and AKL. In the end AKL won out but it was a tough choice. King Triton slide....animals outside of balcony.... .

If AKL had no animals there would not even be a question, she told her Mom that CBR was nice, but that "Mommy" would love the pool at POFQ

My first stay at POFQ in early October was awesome It was the perfect resort to stay at for all the activities me and my sisters wanted to enjoy; boat ride to DTD, walking/jogging path for 10K training, jazz music at the end of the day, etc. We especially appreciated the smallness of the resort after walking all day in the parks.

I can't wait to return to POFQ in January when going to WDW for Marathon Weekend

Where is the walking/jogging path? Between resorts?
