Per Roy...

Buses start running at 7:00am

This past trip I had a PS at MK for 8:05. I bored the bus at WL for TTC at 7:30 then hopped on monorail to MK..was there at 7:50.

I WOULD reccomend that you be at the bus stop BEFORE 7:30...just in case there is any delay!

EDIT!!!

I think I misspoke..Boats start at 8:00am

All in all, I thought the transportation to and from the Lodge was very good. The only time and I really mean ONLY time I would have chosen a different route was the morning we had a 7:55 am PS for Donald's at the Animal Kingdom.

We were at the bus early- 7:25 but the first AK bus didn't arrive until 7:35. We were sharing with FW so after picking us up at the WL- it went to FW before going to AK. It is a decent 20 minute or so ride to AK anyway and having to stop at FW and have people board juat added that much more time.

We got thru the turnstiles at the AK at 8:05 and then had to wait another 15 minutes to be called for our seating. If you have not done Donald's before, you can not just leisurely stroll to it like you can in the MK for early PS. Everybody waits in a mass just past the turnstiles and the CMs call out your name to join one CM to be escorted to Donald's. There are at least two dozen people being seated at once. I found this part very chaotic. Food was good but I was antsy (due late bus and waiting for our seating) to get out of there to hit the Safari before the crowds.

If I did this again- as early a PS at Donald's as I had this past trip- I would take a taxi from the Lodge so I really could get there by 7:50 for a 7:55 seating in hopes of missing some of the hecticness. I'm someone who really hates being late.

Hope that helps!! I loved the Lodge and can't wait to go back!

One silly question...
I know smoking rooms are only on the 6th floor, does any of the Jr. suites allow smoking? (I know...very bad habit

Thanks!

Never have gone to the WL before I am choosing it as our next spot to stay at Disney!

My husband is a smoker. I understand the rooms are on the 6th floor. Does anyone know if any of those room face either the MK Fireworks or the EWP? I can't think of anything more magical than to be sitting in our room watching the fireworks or EWP. If so, do you know any room numbers?

Thank you for this thread! I am so excited to visit the WL.

I am unsure of Smoking rooms, but if you look at the link on my post on the first page, there are Balcony pics that can help you get an idea.

Trish Bessette,

Hi,
I believe that with a Woods View you might get a distant view of the Castle and some of the Wishes fireworks. With a Courtyard View you may have a view of Bay Lake that would let you see EWP from your balcony.

Have a Great Trip.

Smoking rooms are 6th floor, Building "B", North Wing. This would be Woodsview and inner Courtyard.

Thank you campinggal

We'll definitely consider getting a taxi. We aren't actually going there for breakfast but for the backstage safari tour and need to be there by 8:15 but of course we would have to use the same transportation as the breakfast folks. I know what you mean about it being crazy as they call people for breakfast. I got to watch that mess when we went on the safari in Aug and arrived at AK a half hour early (we had no clue how the buses would run).

Hi Trish,

While we were there in Dec. we had a smoking room on the 6th floor and it was facing the MK and we saw the fireworks at night.
And the Dec. of 2002, the smoking rooms were on the 5th floor and our room faced the villas. (but they have since moved smoking to the 6th flr.)
I will go home and check for you tonight what room number it was. It was considered a woods view...sorry, I forgot the room number off hand. I'll PM you tonight.

Hi WL Vets

Can somone tell me if it's possible to walk to the TTC from the WL. If you can it seems like a great way to get to Epcot. Thanks!!

msteddom,

No, while it isn't that far there are no sidewalks...and a very busy road to cross. What we do is walk to bus stop and ride the inter-Resort bus that runs from Ft. Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge then TTC takes about two minutes then we ride the Monorail to EPCOT. This way can can get my Monorail fix that I miss.
