late payment

I just saw an email sent by Disney today that the remainder of my package payment is overdue. It was due 8/5, I saw it late on 8/7. It only said if I don't pay 14 days prior to arrival, the trip would be cancelled.

I'll send a check tomorrow, don't really want to read my credit card info over the phone. Was going to send it by regular mail even though they said to send by overnight courier. I'm not sure how much that would be.

So if they get it by Saturday or Monday/Tuesday, it's still way before our vacation which is the last 2 weeks of Sept, more than a month away. Any experience with late payment, do you think it will be alright?

It's too late to call Disney, it's midnight now, so I thought I'd just ask here. Thanks!

Why?

What if you found a landline phone and called? I assume you don't trust your cell?

Seems so much more likely that someone will intercept your vulnerable check as it goes through the mail system, vs your phone somehow being hacked...

This. You'd rather send a signed check through the mail(and regular mail at that) than give your credit card number out over the phone? I'm pretty sure in the very unlikely event your credit card number was stolen and used it would be a lot easier to deal with than a stolen check that could take weeks before you even realized what happened.

Ok, I just thought it wasn't that safe to give out the credit card # over the phones but I guess I'll go that route. It would be faster. Thanks for your input. I'll make the call now.

It is not safe to give your credit card number over the phone if someone calls you. But if you initiate the call to a valid number then you should feel comfortable giving out the info.

It is always "safer" to use a credit card when you are initiating the call to a confirmed number (ie Disney). Federal law protects the use of our CC. As long as you report in a timely manner, you are only responsible for $50 of expenses. Improper use of your banking information means your entire bank account could be drained before your even know it. Even if they catch the crook, it is unlikely you will ever get your money back.
