Eastern carribean excursions

Does anyone know if there is a disney excursion that goes to maho beach at St. Marteen? I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking it or if you have to venture on your own to visit Maho beach. TIA

Pretty sure that's somewhere you have to get to on your own. Not really much of an "excursion" as you basically just go out there and wait for the jets to fly over. You can catch a taxi over there probably cheaper than the cost of a set up excursion.

Thought so... Thanks! I have this fear of not making back to the ship on time. So if I can book it through disney even if it's more it's the price I'll pay lol.... But it's something I really want to see so it looks like we will be headed there on our own yikes!! Lol

If you head over here, you'll find lots of tips about how to get around St Maarten:

We're using Bernard's Tours (a private tour company) on our trip to take us to Maho beach. They offer an island tour with a stop there. Cheaper than most Disney excursions, and it gets really good reviews both on the DIS and cruise critic.

We were on Fantasy May 2014, and booked Bernard's based on reviews from this site and others. It was $45.00 per person for the second tour. Booked online via their website with $5.00 per person deposit. Totally worth it. Two minute walk to the office. Very efficient staff. Great tour bus driver/guide. Van was air conditioned with a cooler of water, soda, beer, and rum punch. On their reservation form, they request your cruise ship information. I had no worries about "missing the boat." Really nice way to experience the island, including Maho Beach. Have fun!

There's also a tourguide named Joyce Prince that gets good reviews on CC.

We just got off the Fantasy on Saturday and we used Bernard's tours for St. Martin. We had DJ Dave as our guide and he was fabulous. It was our favorite day of the cruise. We all thought Maho Beach was cool but wouldn t go back. Very crowded, my kids were scared, and not a nice beach. Orient Beach where we spent most of our time was beautiful! Have a great cruise! We all wish we were still there!

Since a few of you mentioned the Bernards tours, can anyone tell me if we need to bring swimsuits? From the description it didn't sound like swimming would be involved, but I want to make sure we're prepared if there's a chance!

We did the 2nd tour which included the beach. It was Orient Beach and it was fabulous! The water was crystal clear, warm, and calm. There were a couple of topless women though. We were in the water the whole time so definately wear swimsuits. My kids were disappointed that the Iguana farm is under renovation so it didn t go there. We did see iguanas wild though on the bus.
