Where to park in Port Canaveral?

Did you park at terminal or used Park and Cruise?

When I drive I park in the official lot, I heard bad reports of long waits for shuttles to the ship from off terminal parking.

We pay the extra $20 and do preferred parking. It is very convenient; it eliminates one check point (compared to walking across the road from the parking garage when you are boarding and we also carry our bags off so we walk directly from customs to our vehicle. Maybe 100 feet.

We prefer to park at the terminal. We've gone the shuttle route before and I prefer not to have to do it again.

We usually do a one way rental but next time we are thinking of just parking at the port as opposed to an offsite lot.

Same for us as well. Since always hit the parks after the cruise, parking right at the terminal gets us on the road a lot quicker than waiting on a shuttle. We find this works best us.

We parked at the port. On the last day we were on the road in no time and I was SO glad I wasn't still standing there waiting on a shuttle. To us it was worth spending a little more so that we didn't have to deal with that the morning we had to drive home.

We are from out of state so we stay at a hotel in the area that offers a 40% discount to park at the port. On a 7 day cruise that is a savings of $48.

We like the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Titusville

We did our 1st cruise this June, and parked in the main garage for the terminal. We didn't want to wait for a shuttle, and were very happy that we spent the extra money to park right there. Another bonus we found out about was when we got back in our car after the cruise. Being in the covered garage, our car was shaded and that kept the temp down inside the car.

I do have a question for the PP that pays an extra fee for the Preferred Parking....is that parking area shaded? I like the idea of being able to walk right in to the terminal without crossing the street, however, we don't want to park outside in the direct sunlight. Thanks.

We park at the port. No extra $20, but have a GREAT spot that we've parked in for 2 cruises. Covered parking next to the walkway over the unloading area. No street to cross.
It doesn't get much better than this.

Up until our most recent cruise we've always parked in the lot at the terminal. Thought we'd try and redirect some of that parking money to the drink of the day this go round and used Park n Cruise. I regret that decision. Yes, we saved some money and yes it was a safe/secure option. The shuttle is what blew it for us. And I don't blame Park n Cruise for how they run things, they are just trying to be as efficient as they can be. If you choose them, just plan that it may add another hour+ to getting on the ship and about another half hour for getting back to your vehicle in their lot afterward. If there is a next time for us, we're definitely parking in the terminal.

We always park at the terminal. The last thing I need is delays and added stress when all I want to do is get on that ship asap and start my long awaited vacation. We park in the garage, it's really close to the terminal building and most importantly (to me) covered, unlike preferred parking.

We parked in the garage, level 3, a few feet from the walkway to the terminal. The preferred parking is not any closer and isn't covered. Not a good deal to me. We also had stayed the night before in the Holiday Inn Titusville and got the 40% off discount on the parking.

We park in the preferred parking. As mentioned before, it is worth it to us to eliminate as many potential headaches as we can for after the cruise. For us, it's off the ship, get our luggage, into the car and we are home in 2.5 hours. Easy and simple!!!

We were parked on the ground floor at the end farthest from the terminal and we were on the road to DW 10 min after customs.
