pin code discounts

I have heard so much about pin codes.... The discount they can give you. Are they something you can share. I booked a vacation for september. They told me if I had a pin code I could add it later! I know they might be done by zip code . Can anyone give me more info on them and share a pin code I mite be able to apply! I am in Rhode Island.

PIN codes are not transferrable. The person to whom the code was sent must be on the reservation.

You've asked about one of the great mysteries of life. Who gets pin codes and how are they assigned? Someone must know at Disney, but if its ever been revealed to the masses, I haven't heard about it.

Pin codes are usually offered by an email offer or by snail mail. Sometimes you can get lucky and simply call Disney reservations to see if you have a pin code attached to your name/email address.

But as already noted, Disney assigns the pin codes to a specific name and that name has to be on the reservation. Pin Codes are not transferable.

A pin code is an offer for a Disney Resort discount (usually room only discount or free dining on a package vacation) that is specific to the person to whom it was sent. It can't be used by another person. It is usually offered for times when that particular type of discount is not available to the general public. There will be a specific time frame during which the code is valid.

You can never predict if or when a pin code will show up. Some years I've had several. Other years I've had none. I know some people who've had a dozen trips to WDW and have never gotten a pin. THAT is the mystery of the pin.

I definitely recommend calling and asking if you have a pin code attached to your name. I either didn't get an email or it was in my spam mail and I never saw it, but when I called I had a PIN a few years ago that I was able to use for free dining. If you've never been to Disney or registered on there website, then I would suggest registering to get the Planning CD. At least then you know you are in the system

I've been on at least 10 trips to WDW over the years and never have received a PIN code. Took my parents with us on a DVC ressie two years ago and now they are getting PIN code offers just about every 6-8 weeks.

Not sure if that is a trend but seems like the more you go the less chance you might have of obtaining a PIN code tied to your name.

I used to live in Orlando and was an AP. After we moved we traveled with my brother and my parents all connecting reservations etc.. My parents and brother get them all the time . I never get them . I contribute it to being a previous AP because that is the only difference for us. I know it's probably not true but it makes me feel better. I feel left out from my family since they can book with a code and I don't have one

I know how you feel! My mom and i travel to WDW together but in separate rooms and I do all the booking and she doesn't have a computer so all her reservations go on my email along with mine. Soooo...I get pin code offers for her sent to my email all the time. But, I have never gotten one for me! I blame the two names with one email address. The funny part is that the email address is MY name not hers! Not fair!

Oh well....at least Mom gets a good rate.
