Question Split stay on prop then off prop resort

We are staying at the Boardwalk for 3 nights, followed by a non disney resort for the remaining 4 nights. How does this affect the magic bands? Do I need 2 sets of bands? Do I still have the priviledge of booking dinner reservations and our itinerary ahead of time for my 4 nights of non disney stay? Not sure how moving to a non disney property will effect my magic band priviledges.
thanks!

I don't know the answer but I'm following for answers. We're doing a split stay between on and off property resorts also.

Hey Polishnavy...looks like we are the only ones! =) I've looked through the treads and most of the people on these boards are splitting their stays within the Disney resorts. I will call Disney Reservations and find out that way if no one responds. Good luck!

Kathy

Thanks! We're using hotel reward points for the off property portion and then splurging to stay on property. It's a compromise for my budget conscious DH.

You can use your magic bands for your entire stay. The MB will work for entering the parks with your ticket media and for FP+.

You will only be able to reserve FP+ 60 days out for the Disney stay and 30 days for the offsite stay.

You can only set them up for changing privileges on a Disney stay.

ADRs for split stays seem to be hit-or-miss. I've only done Disney-to-Disney splits and haven't had problems making them over the phone. It won't let you do it online.

MBs are a link to your MDE account. Once you have one, you can continue to use it. That is true for MBs you get for a Disney stay, for being an AP holder, or ones that have been purchased. You can have multiple MBs active in your account at one time and use them interchangeably (to match your outfit, or whatever). Currently, I have five MBs. I only set 2 of them to active for my upcoming trip.
