Hollywood studios help!

Ok, I just had to cancel both of my adrs (lunch and dinner) for our Hollywood studios day. I booked the frozen premium package, and the times would have conflicted for both of our meals. I just checked, and there are not any other adrs to be had for that day . I now need to eat 2 counter service meals at Hollywood studios...ick. It is me, my hubby, and our 8 year old daughter. We will be on the dining plan, and leaving the park for meals isn't really an option (I don't walk very well, and it's too much for me to leave and come back). My hubby has sworn off abc commissary (I can't say I blame him). Which two would you pick? I have heard great things about staring rolls, but the only kids option is an uncrustable, and I don't think my little one would be very happy with that. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

There's the fairfax market across from the beauty n the beast show, which has many options.

You also have the QS over near the backlot tour exit,and/ or pizza planet.

Also I would check 2 days before for ADRs at the TS places. Once the cancellations start you can probably snag them.

Also day of it never hurts to walk up. We've been seated at SciFi on a pretty busy park day in 20 minutes. (Which is less than we've been seated at times with an ADR, lol)

Could you start your day with a breakfast at your hotel or try Cape May for a character breakfast.

Down by RnR there is a place that has a really good BBQ chicken and ribs. I think you can also get Turkey legs next door. I do believe that you can sit at the bar at Prime Time and order from the menu. If you can get into the bar. Have you tried booking a fantasmic lunch? Sometimes they have openings for that when they do not have reservations for regular dining. Also never give up. People cancel up to 24 hrs prior to their reservations so just keep trying. I was playing on the reservation site last night and a prime dinner reservation popped up for O'hana for today.

I know you said you did not want to leave the park but it is only a short boat ride to the Boardwalk and all of the choices over there.

The place by RnR is called Fairfax Faire. The other one we liked was Backlot Express. The salad was good and the bacon cheeseburger was one of the better ones at Disney.

What time does the park close? When we go the park closes relatively early so we eat an early lunch and then a late dinner at a resort or Downtown Disney.

I will check out the menus for fairfax and the backlot. Thanks for the suggestions!

We are already doing cape may for breakfast on a different day (we are staying at the beach club). I really don't think I can leave the park. I am 31 years old, and I have a rare vascular disease. My foot points at a 90 degree angle in the wrong direction (it points completely sideways because I don't have any connective tissue left at my hip), and I walk with a terrible limp. I refuse to use any mobility devises, so I am on foot and very slow moving. Leaving the park is too much of an inconvenience for my family.

We have always had good luck with walk ups and same day ADRs at 50's Prime Time, and their food is some of the best at DHS. Good luck, and have a great time at the Frozen event!

You gotta be original because if you're like someone else, what do they need you for?

We always seem to eat at pizza planet but that's because my daughter likes pizza and arcades.... It isn't the best food and pretty loud in there. not a lot of great choices at DHS, we like Mamma Melrose and have also tried SciFi: it was ok but not great either.

We enjoy the backlot express. It does have"standard park fare" of burgers and sandwiches, but on the dining plan the portions are big and we haven't had a bad meal here.

Have you stayed at the Beach Club before? We were there in June and loved the resort.

We have not stayed there yet. I am really excited to try it out this trip! I love the boardwalk area, the ease of walking to Epcot, and I booked a ton of yummy meals at the surrounding resorts

I agree with a pp that if you really want sit down meals to keep trying. People cancel all the time and you never know if/when something might become available that fits your schedule. With that said, if CS turns out to be your only option, we like Backlot Express.

My condolences for having to find two sufficient QS meals at DHS

If it were us, I'd take a mid-day break over to the Epcot area resorts and try to book a TS lunch over there. If you don't want to be tied down to an ADR time, Big River Grille and ESPN Club (both at BWI) take walk-ups (no ADRs taken).

If you decide to take your chances on DHS QS, I'd avoid Pizza Planet. Small seating area and the same icky pizza you can get anywhere else on property. Blah.
