Biergarten - seems like a love it or hate it place

I frequently see Biergarten highlighted as a fav but also a one of the worst around. My sense based on reading reviews is that food is just ok (at best) but this is compensated by fun german atmosphere. Those really looking for good food generally don't like it whereas those looking for all round experience seem to like - is this a fair analysis?

I think the food at Biergarten is good.

IMO, it would depend on how big of a fan you are of buffets in general. To me, it's heavy, mediocre buffet food. From the reviews here, I was expecting more. Who knows why? All the WDW buffets are similar to cheap buffets everywhere. There's no comparison to upscale brunch buffets. The only thing they have going for them that cheap buffets outside WDW don't have is a special atmosphere & in Biergarten's case huge beers that many seem to love. Some people like buffets in general though.

I grew up eating home cooking from my Czech grandmother who made many of these dishes. Biergarten isn't fancy but it's comfort food done right.

Haven't been since they converted. Do you still sit in "common tables"? We always had great conversations with others at our table.

No, not the way I see it.
We love the atmosphere and music, but certainly would not make it a must-do every trip for all these years if we didn't think the food was delicious. Obviously it's a buffet, and not all dishes suit us, but overall think it's very good food with a lot of different and exciting choices, but still with something for everybody.
Can't wait to go back, but wherever you go sure hope you have a great time!

I ate at Biergarten with my German sister in law and she thought it was very authentic home cooking. My whole family (not German) enjoyed it very much.

Yes you sit at long tables that hold 6-8 people, I think they may have a few 4 and 10 tops too but mostly 8 I think.

My husband was born in Germany and his mother was also born and raised there. So he ate a lot of traditional German foods growing up. He LOVES Biergarten and thinks the food is very good and authentic. The rest of my family loves it as well and it is our only must-do restaurant every trip. I firmly believe that it is impossible for buffet food to be as good as made-to-order food because it is made in large batches and does sit out. But we think this buffet is very, very good!

We love it too and it is on our must do list. The atmosphere and the music are so much fun, but if the food weren't also really good it wouldn't be on our must do list. We love the food and even my very picky daughters always have a good meal here.

I really like the atmosphere and food - and I don't eat sausage or any of the meats there really. I love the sides, salads, soup and pretzel bread. The music is great and my dd loves dancing to it down in the front.

We just don't do the ddp so it's expensive OOP for us- so we don't do it every trip.

I went in expecting to not like it as I HATE German food. Surprise! I LOVED it and it's our new favorite in Epcot.

I had German food a couple of times before trying Biergarten, but had never really liked German food until then. I not only enjoyed the food, but also the atmosphere, the restaurant and the band. So much fun!!!!!

Biergarten-we enjoy the food and atmosphere but HATE the communal (table-sharing) seating. It's not a must-do for us every visit but we put up with the lousy seating every few years or so.
