Kona lunch on MK day

I am trying to figure out where to have lunch on our MK day on 12/17. We already have BOG FP for our first day, and the Plaza for dinner the night of the 17th, so I'm thinking maybe going to Kona for lunch our second day. Is it worth leaving MK for this? How long would it take to travel there, eat, and travel back? Thanks!

I would think that you would need a minimum of 2 hours, if the stars were all aligned. More likely 3. If approached in a relaxed way, this might be a good alternative to a midday resort break.

I would highly recommend Kona. I did a review about it if you search my posts. You should be good to go from Mk and eat there and be back in 2-2.5hrs for sure.

One tip is if you get there special juice blend it's around $4.50 and it's in a small glass and the refills are NOT free. It is amazing but ridiculous it's in such a small glass with no free refills.

Who is going? Do you have kids? I would need to know more before I can say if I think it is a good idea or not.

We go almost every trip. Just hop on the monorail or the resort boat.
It is pleasant the the food is very good.

I have never eaten lunch at Kona. I agree with the others tho' it is likely 2 - 3 hours out of your day.
I see from the multiple threads you have started that you are looking to replace Pecos Bill now that the menu doesn't have an item you want.
How about Columbia Harbour House in the MK. This is swapping a CS for a CS and you would not have to leave the MK.
Columbia Harbour House has some delicious, different, healthy choices. I love the tuna sandwich, the salmon entrée gets rave reviews and you can get broccoli and couscous as sides.
Good Luck

This is exactly what we do. The only restaurants we like in MK is BOG and CHH. We take the boat to the Poly, maybe 20 mins if that. Have lunch at Konas and then either go back to our resort or back to the park. It is easy and nice to get a break from the hussle and bussle. Love Konas

It's much better than anything you can eat for lunch at a table service restaurant inside MK, with the possible exception of Liberty Tree.

Yes, we (49, 48, 10 & 7 yr olds) do this regularly. Usually taking the resort boat. Service is pretty swift there, so if you don't want to linger, you won't. We sometimes linger. Esp. if we've gone into MK on an EMH morning...
