Port Canaveral hotels

Looking for a hotel in Cape Canaveral near the port. Is there a hotel that you can see the cruise leave?

We have stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral before and we were able to see the ships in the morning when we woke up. It was not a clear unonstructed view, but it was nice to wake up and see Fantasy ready and waiting for us.

We loved Country Inn and Suites. We woke up in the morning and looked out the window and The Dream was there. Their shuttle service is also amazing. If you want to actually see ships leave Port, we had dinner at Fish Lips and sat outside facing Port. We go to see a Carnival ship leaving....they went right by us. My DS 7 thought it was cool, and their food was delicious!!!

Ditto for CI&S. Reasonable rates + great park n ride shuttle service to port. Literally a 5 min ride. Shuttles book quickly so be sure to reserve the day before if possible. (earliest you can book). You will probably get there later but it seems the early ones fill up first.

Have a great time

There are a couple of fast food places within walking distance, but no stores. But Hertz is right there is you want to rent a car.

FWIW, we could not see the ships from our room, but at the end of the hallway there was a window where we watched the Fantasy sail away.

If you request the port view room at CIS, you can see the ships in the morn. The ships tyically come in anywhere from 430-530 am depending on itinerary.

No To CIS

Cis is the most over priced run down hotel i have ever stayed in. Would not recommend it for my dog. Does motel 8 mean anything to you.

I second this. Its called Holiday Inn Suites now. Very nice play. Great pool area and on the beach as well. We have been there a number of times and going again this September.

If you stay at one of the hotels that will let you leave your car there and shuttle you to the port - do you have to wait in the line (as if you drove there) or do they let you in the port early?

We are staying at the Radisson at the Port - can you see the ships from there?

Nope, you will have to wait with everyone else.

We've stayed at the Radisson multiple times and have never seen the ships from there.

When we were there, shuttle buses were allowed to enter the port before private cars, if that's what you're asking. People in private cars were told to come back an hour later. This was right after Hurricane Sandy so the port was chaotic that day.

We stayed at CI&S because we had a freebie night. It wasn't in as good of condition as other CI&S hotels we've stayed in, but it was do-able. Our room had a view of the port, and we saw the Fantasy sail right past us. She was a few hours late due to the hurricane, so it was an exciting moment knowing she had indeed weathered the storm.
