Here now, magic bands are not working to open hotel, is this a sign that maybe they won't work at the parks either? I would sure hate to get there & have this happened to us tomorrow especially with an early breakfast reservation & early FP

I would check your My Disney Experience account and make sure the bands are active, check the ID numbers.

I would return to the front desk and ask them to fix them if they are not working for your room.

We had the same thing happen with some of our bands back last November. We were told that if the band wouldn't open the door that it also likely wouldn't work in the parks. We were instructed to go back down to the front desk or hotel concierge to have them reset. Once that was done they worked fine.

The battery probably needs to be changed in your resort door.

Then a bunch of people started commenting on it
I wondered if people really lived there and got to watch them every night

When my replacement MB didn't work to open my resort room's door, I had to go down to the front desk and they fixed it.

A good friend is there now and theirs didn't work either. Their dining didn't show up as well as parks and room if I understood her correctly. Once it was remedied she told me she loves the bands.

Last October our MB's did not work to open our door at Pop on the first day. We went to HS and my band would not work for park entry, DD's did. Neither band worked for charging privileges that day (hers did randomly). Both MB's worked for FP+. The key card system was also down that day so we had no other way to get into our room or access our dining plan. Fun times...NOT!

After spending a total of 4 hours at the front desk (over the course of the afternoon and night) dealing with several CM's and eventually the hotel manager, the problem was fixed after 10:30pm. We had been up since 2am to catch our early morning flight to Orlando. It was NOT a magical start to our trip and I'll admit, we were both in tears by the end of the night (exhaustion, frustration, hunger, and disappointment at wasting a full day at Disney dealing with their issues).

Glad yours finally worked. Every time I read a post where someone says those of us who had negative experiences are overreacting and making it up, I want to scream. For what we pay for a vacation at Disney, wasting an entire day dealing with trying to fix a problem that we didn't cause is beyond frustrating! The manager did tell me that they found a problem they had never come across before and that our issues helped them to fix future issues with other guests. Hoping that really was true!

We arrive at POFQ one week from today. Very excited. After reading this post I decided to log back into mde and check to make sure the magic band numbers were correct and that they were both active. Looks good so far. I'll have the cm double check at check in that both bands have charging priviliages. I don't think there's anywhere I can see that on mde, correct?

Here is the thing... all that stuff also could happen with the key cards. They would randomly not open the doors, not be loaded correctly, or not allow charging when they were supposed to. So this really is not new to the MBs.

Now, I am not saying the MBs are perfect or anything. Just that it seems a bit funny to me that people will say this is because of the MBs when it could always happen before. I guess since these are new it's easier to just say they have the issue?

Problems happen much more frequently with the MB's. It was confirmed by me on three separate trips by different cm's who were helping us deal with multiple problems with our MB's.

Thank you to those who go before us....

I am always a huge proponent of going right to the front desk or to a park relations window if there is a problem. on-line troubleshooting only deals with the software--as some of the posters say, much of the problem could be in the hard ware items. Over the years we've had random issues with our tickets, ADRs, and resort key cards and people provide the fix. that said, I'd be very very upset if more than 60 total minutes was lost to their fix processes. I would not be above asking for some sort of dispensation or comp for the lost Magic My hat is off to you all who are blazing the trail for those of us to come behind. I am a bit skeptical about how perfect all this MB stuff is going to be, but will reserve final judgment until after we see how our FP ability is impacted. We don't really care about the room, dining, and charge components--old way was fine.
