Be glad you're not a TA, I was on hold for 5 hours today. Not fun at all.

Are there hotels that have the ability to do this on-line? I travel about 150 days/year with my job and I have to call to change any hotel reservation. When I use Orbitz I can change some of my reservations - but only some.

This is pretty standard across the industry.

like 10:30 or so? how late? I'm usually calling mid-day and have good luck but i've been waiting until after our 4 year old is asleep this time and haven't had the best luck.

I'd say after 10pm. That's when I've had my best luck getting through. But since free dining just came out yesterday, it still may be crazy/busy for the next few nights. Good luck!

Agreed. Why on earth can't you do everything online. This is 2014 not 1993.

First lets get a website that works 99.99% of the time before we expect online reservation changes to be implemented. Until that happens I'm happy to call to make sure I don't end up a 7 day MYW ticket but only a 1 day room reservation with a magical express pickup 10 days later

Yesterday morning I was on hold with Disney 1 1/2 hours then got through and couldn't pull the trigger on an upgrade since Wilderness Lodge was already booked up for free dining. AKL was available so DH and I discussed it and decided to go for it. I was then on hold 2 hours 45 minutes in the evening and finally got through after 11:00 pm. I was able to make the change to AKL. I'm hoping this gets cleared up before next week when I have to do dining reservations. I'm trying to decide whether to do these online or with a Disney rep. I've heard so many horror stories about he website.

I've have never had any problems booking dining online, it's very easy to make and cancel them (you just can't change the number of party members for an existing reservation). But if you are that concerned, I've heard the waits for dining are only 5 minutes or so, the phone holds seem to only be for room and package reservations.

I haven't seem one that doesn't allow it. I primarily stay at Hyatts and Marriotts and have never had an issue changing or cancelling reservations online. Heck even airlines with the most archaic pricing system ever allow it now.

Never experienced this before! I noticed free dining and a room only offer have appeared in the last few days. Anyone know from past experience about when the call volume usually goes down after discounts are announced?

thanks for any input!
Regardless of what promotions are running Disney should staff their phone lines accordingly. Plus the reps seem less knowledgeable and not very friendly compared to what they used to be 5 years ago. 2+ hour waits are unacceptable no matter what the reason.

I'm east coast so I try to call right at 7:00am...

Last night at 9:45pm, my hold time was stated as "45 minutes"... or "all circuits are busy"...

I called today at 7:00am and got a 5min wait... I think the west coast calls in the evenings my time...
