glad to hear he enjoyed it! It's something I want to try...I think I'm too afraid to do regular skydiving!

I just reset. Each week is a new week to work hard at my goals. I just get back to planning my week: workout, cooking, and work

I'm sorry to hear about your gram. I know even though it's for the good it doesn't make it any easier. My grandmother passed a few years ago after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Even though she was better, it wasn't any easier.
Hubs and I live in a nice mobile home park and so we have a great place to walk so it's likely we'll cancel.. soon..

I'm actually saving 99% of the refund to put to my student loans. Guess I'm an adult now. Ok, and a little tiny bit is going to my May Disney trip. We really only have to pay for the last bit of the hotel so I don't feel toooooo bad

I'm have a short week so I can go on a "weekend trip" on Monday and Tuesday. I'm really excited for a little less stress through the next week. I've been on my schedule and even though things have been busy I'm really sticking to it! I'm really excited.

It snowed here last night and there's still snow on the ground! I will say even though it is nicer out, I still love working out in the gym because there's just a lot more to do and sometimes I like there being other people around.

Well I'm off to run errands and start dinner! Salmon again tonight because DBF is working late so I get to have all the fish I want!

I try to stick to 20 gr. carbs or less or things OTHER than fruit and vegetable carbs. Things like dairy carbs, low carb breads, high fiber grains. Those are the things I try to count and limit. I totally eliminate potatoes (white and sweet), any starchy veggies (peas, corn, parsnips, winter squash), high sugar fruits (bananas, mango, oranges, pineapple, grapes), brown rice, cereals, real sugar (white and brown) and any other starchy foods. I eat a lot of greens, lean turkey, egg whites, tons of veggies, plain fat-free yogurt with berries, some lean beef and pork, some nuts, an occasional bit of natural sugar-free peanut butter, berries, the occasional apple or grapefruit. It is a bit restrictive because I would occasionally like a sweet potato or a handful of pretzels or some high fiber cereal for my yogurt parfaits, but honestly it isn't a whole lot different than the way I eat on a regular basis.

Tuesday 4/15/14 QOTD -- Happy Tax Day! Anyone using tax refunds to support your healthy lifestyle?

sadly, tax refunds here are going into the college fund that's good, but not anything fun or motivating!

Sounds familiar!! Unfortunately our refund wasn't quite as large as usual PLUS we sold some stock for DD that we had bought when she was a baby.... it was intended for college tuition and that is where it went. The unfortunate part is that we/she got a big capital GAIN from that sale and we ended up paying for that gain with half of our refund. Oh well... easy come, easy go!

well I can report that I did get back on track yesterday and journaled every bite and stayed in range. thanks for the accountability

yesterday I went to pilates, first time going to pilates since before I was sick with cushing's. funny how everything again is like the first time...my body is so different and so weak. but I went and I was pleasantly surprised how much I was able to do. now, let's talk about my absolutely SORE muscles today!
Woohoo for GOOD sore muscles!!

QotD --- tax refund.. nope.. I get back very little from federal and had to pay a very small amount to state so I pretty much am even.. well I guess about 2 months ago we spent the federal on a family dinner including my sister and her GF, Hubs, Myself, the kids and my mom! so that was fun..
Sorry to hear that Gram pass, but glad she had loved ones to meet her in her new better place.

OUCH!!

As for weight loss, well . I am still on medical restriction. I went to my OTF class twice last week and then this morning. My trainer knows I am injured, so she is torturing me extra special lately. She has said multiple times "sucks to be injured, doesn't it?" in such an evil voice. Despite her best efforts, I GAINED this week. It was only half a pound, but it was a major disappointment. We cruise in 3 weeks and this injury thing is really killing my goals.
I understand the frustration with the gain, but take care of yourself!!

Sorry I've been non existent. Been busy with taking daughter to appointments etc. BTW still don't know the sex since the little turd was turned around the last 2 ultrasounds...Also been pretty involved with the union lately over an ordinance the city council is going to vote on soon mandating first day sick pay. I got to meet with the Mayor lately (who I adore) and spoke last night at a city council meeting. We have sick pay but it isn't until your third scheduled missed day lol. It's like not having it at all. Part of my speech was about how bad my back was in the past--the first time I really did it I had to have a wheel chair and I remember my husband actually having to carry me to the toilet. Made me realize how far I've come with it. I now virtually have No back pain. I may not be skinny but this was my whole motivation for losing weight and it was good to remember it.
Well I have to go work out. Been barely squeezing in workout between meetings, and my daughter added to my schedule lately. Today's my birthday too so I'll be going to a killer chinese buffet--better work out good lol.
Sorry I've missed weigh ins-- decided this month is a bust but I'd still like to hang out when I can till May. I'm still maintaining anyway guess that's good.TTFN
Wow, you have been busy!! And I never knew that about your back. That is an amazing recovery AND a great reason to keep your weight under control!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However because the state would rather like to keep your money longer, you have actually up to three years to file (if they owe you money, if you owe them money you have to file by the end of May).

I am hoping to get my taxes done before my vacation though. Hopefully when I come home I will have a nice letter that they sent me some money! Which would go into my travel funds and my general savings - won't use it for anything healthy.

Hope you all had a better start to the week than me. I ended up with a massive headache yesterday so that I did not do my exercise. And the headache was still around when I got home from work today. I was so not wanting to do my program. But then I took Pam's advice and thought I should just start it and if it still feels bad after 10 minutes I will be allowed to stop. And the opposite was the case. It did me so good!! Now i am feeling happy and energised! Off to doing a little bit of housework before heading to bed for hopefully a good rest!
So glad I could motivate you to keep moving.... but I MUST give the credit back to Rose (Rose&Mike). It was she that told me about that idea in the first place.... and I used it today myself and ended up walking 40 minutes!

So exciting! I hope the floating FP+ thing is in play and that 7dmt has FP+ when we are there. Also it is the last day of flower and garden, so we will have to swing by there and see the new booths. So much to do in 36 hours at WDW!

QOTD Wed 4/16 -- WOO HOO Wednesday
I walked 20 minutes at school with my students (Walking Wednesday for Health week) and another 40 walk/run when I got home (despite the COLD temps that nearly had me turning around!)!! Woohoo!!

Took the dogs on a long walk, got two loads of washing done, third is just finishing. Stripped the beds and did some housework ( but boring I know). Bit scary, off to watch a friendly match tonight (rounders, which is a bit like baseball) and then realise how good other teams are
Still pretty WOO HOO for me though.
Great busy day!!

We woke to snow as well.... not a lot, but enough to coat everything white and make the roads slippery this morning... and it was a COOOOOLD day!

***********************

Well, happy Wednesday all! Page one is updated with colors, but I must say that I only got weigh-ins last Friday/Saturday/Sunday from a handful of folks! It's not too late for me to update your weight for last week!

Worked again today in the same 2nd grade class.... they definitely are a challenging group and I was warned that I will PROBABLY be in there again tomorrow. Plus that same teacher has already requested Friday off, but I'm not working Friday.... but I don't envy whoever their sub might be! They will be SO NUTS by Friday!

Off to have a last bit of dinner. I realized when I was finished eating that my dinner wasn't nearly enough calories (egg whites scrambled with just a bit of low fat cheddar and lots of veggies), so I need to go eat more!

I'll try to pop on in the morning again tomorrow! .....................P

I am trying to take some baby steps towards doing the 2015 Princess Half, and I feel like I accomplished one of them.

Then I ate terrible food all day .

How is everyone in getting ready/finishing up Seder/Passover/Easter?

That is WONDERFUL! Congratulations!!

Uh-oh.... well, onward from there, right?? But think of it as a learning opportunity. What will you do different after your next race? Plan your meal ahead? Save some calories for a splurge? Maybe you were dehydrated more than you realized. Our bodies often mask thirst as hunger.

I have almost NO Easter prep to do and of course, I've done very little of the small bit that I AM supposed to do! I still don't have everything I need for DS's Easter basket, but I think I'm all set with DD. So Saturday morning's grocery stop will have to include some "bunny" shopping as well.

Morning all! Subbing as a 3rd/4th grade reading/math specialist. It won't be a tough day, but I was hoping to get out early and the schedule doesn't really work for that. I've talked to a few teachers and the office about it and we are working on a plan to have me out of here by 2:15. That would help a lot!

Looking forward to weigh-in day tomorrow! I truly feel that I have done ALMOST everything I could to make sure that my weigh-in will be a good one. I say almost because there is always SOMETHING more I feel I could do (more exercise, more green tea, more water, less junk), but overall, with my busy schedule the last many days, I feel I have made the best choices possible.

Just found out that for some reason they are extending the 4th grade recess by a full HOUR! I have duty, so time to grab the winter coat from the car! I thought I'd be fine for 20 minutes in my lighter jacket, but for over an hour I'm going to bundle up! I think I'll also pull on my sneakers (I always keep a pair in the car) and try to walk laps around the playground. It will be my only exercise for the day.

Still working on getting out of here early. It is still up in the air about one student. We shall see!

Next up I have a 45 minute reading block with one student, then lunch and then the crazy recess duty. If I DO get to leave early, it will (hopefully) be right after that. If that is the case, I probably will not pop on again until tomorrow, so remember that tomorrow is WEIGH-IN DAY! I'll be emptying my PM box to be sure I have plenty of space for everyone's results!!

I'll go out on a limb and restate my goal for this week, which was to lose last week's gain (about a half pound) and another full pound on top of that. But honestly, at this point I'd be happy with just getting rid of last week's gain!

I'm going to dash for now, as my student should be here within the next 5 minutes...............P

My 5 are very similar to Pamela's, except the lights started flashing...

1. My health
2. My wonderful family and their good health
3. Happiness
4. Family time
5. Electricity ( yeah, I know, but the upstairs water pipe struck a leak, the water was running like a stream out of the light switch and the lights started flashing. We have had to switch the main circuit off for the lights, and soon it will get dark, so I am going to need candles ...) so when you lose the electricity you are grateful for the immediacy of the switch, right? The plumber is on call and is unlikely to come today. I need so e pixie dust to fix it

Hi Pamela
I have my fingers crossed that you will get away on time. Also, I like the way you have your goal stated on here - I had too much junk at the weekend. Maybe I will be lucky to maintain this week. I have upped the exercise, but the impact is limited I think. All will become clear tomorrow at weigh in. Good luck

Easter here. We are heading up to my family in Jersey tomorrow after work. We haven't been up since Christmas, so I am really excited to see my nephew. He is 3.5 and a total riot!

*******

ANOTHER gain! And I RAN yesterday of the first time in weeks! I expected a big loss just for the fact that running should have been a bit of a shock to the body. Nope, up a whole pound! Grr. And I am heading home for the weekend, so I won't be exercising and my eating will be totally out of whack. So with the last few days of gains, I am now 5 lbs above where I wanted to be at this point. In the weight loss world, 5 lbs is a huge.

I'm off to go workout!! my WI was down a little this week, whew...my weight has been fluctuating for nearly 6 months...the same 10 lbs. Three weeks until Vegas trip so I'm focused hard until then and maybe I can break through this plateau

here is mine!haaaa - tower is my least favorite ride in all of Disney I just ride it with my son so he doesn't have ride alone!!!

What Disney Ride Are You?
You got: Tower of Terror
Zany, cooky, original: No one can hold a candle to how cool you are. In fact, you might say your friends are downright terrified of how awesome you are. A thrill seeker to the core, you hate sitting around and doing nothing — unless you’re plunging nearly 20 stories to the ground!

We have had to switch the main circuit off for the lights, and soon it will get dark, so I am going to need candles ...) so when you lose the electricity you are grateful for the immediacy of the switch, right? The plumber is on call and is unlikely to come today. I need so e pixie dust to fix it
Yup! You never know HOW MUCH we rely on flipping a switch or turning on the tap or flushing the toilet.... until we CAN'T!! We lose water when we lose electricity (well pump), as well as heat. It can get pretty miserable pretty quickly with no ability to flush the toilets! Hope your power outage was short!

I have upped the exercise, but the impact is limited I think. All will become clear tomorrow at weigh in. Good luck
I did manage to get out at 2:15 and had an easy afternoon! Lunch at 12:15 and then an unexpectedly extended recess duty from 12:40 until 2pm!! Can't complain about that day! Thanks for asking.

1. my family and friends (both near and far including my Dis friends)
2. my job becuase it pays the bills (and a bit to saving for my trips)
3. my road to health I am not the healthist but I am traveling that path
4. my home it's old and small but it's completely paid for and mine
5. I am grateful be to alive happy to wake up every day to give it another go
Love them all, but for some reason #4 stood out to me. We live in a society where so many folks are just so UNSATISFIED with what they have.... they always want "bigger and better".... especially with homes and cars. It is nice to see someone SATISFIED with what they have! I feel that way about my home.... especially now that the kids are older. For a while I wished for a larger home, but I am starting to realize that this is MORE than big enough! Just wish I could claim it was paid for in full! Lucky girl!

And of COURSE #5 is DELIGHTFUL!!

I'm SO sorry that you are so frustrated. I can totally understand and have sympathy and empathy. I have certainly had MANY weeks with those same feelings.... you feel like you are at the end of your rope.... you wonder...How much less can you eat? How much more can you exercise? What can you change? And sometimes you don't need to change ANYTHING.... except your expectations and your patience.

How about having a plan in place for next week, after the holiday weekend? Maybe plan your meals for Mon-Thursday?? Also, keep in mind that you might be retaining some lactic acid from last night's run.... you might be dehydrated or overtired? There are SO MANY THINGS that can effect your weigh-in.... and they aren't just "excuses"!!

I disagree.... 5 pounds is NOT huge. It is a PITA and I understand wanting it GONE.... but 90 pounds is HUGE.... not 5.

Whatever you do.... DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to talk to you again on Monday. Enjoy your weekend.

QOTD - Friday 4/18 -- FUN FRIDAY!

http://www.buzzfeed.com/samstryker/w...y-ride-are-you

I did it twice b/c I had a hard time choosing and I have no idea about the Kardashians I got Big Thunder Mountain then Mad Hatter Tea Party. I really wanted to get Carrousel of Progress or Tower of Terror LOL

I'm off to go workout!! my WI was down a little this week, whew...my weight has been fluctuating for nearly 6 months...the same 10 lbs. Three weeks until Vegas trip so I'm focused hard until then and maybe I can break through this plateau
Fingers crossed that you absolutely KICK that plateau to the curb!! I'll take the quiz in a minute!!

*****************************

Hey friends! Bit of a lie-in this morning.... got to sleep until 6:30!! Got the trash loaded in the car to take to the dump after dropping of DS at school, so that is done and I'm on my 4th load of laundry (mostly DD's stuff she brought home last night).

My Friday morning steel cut oats were DELICIOUS, as usual!! I had a green smoothie for breakfast Mon-Thurs, so this was a welcome change.... warm and creamy and sweet!

I'm mildly excited to report that I DID lose last week's gain plus some and have hit my lowest number this calendar year (after my Christmas gain and my crazy unexplainable January gain). FINALLY feeling like I am on the right track again. Hmmmm... do you think it has anything to do with the fact that I am FINALLY on a regular exercise plan again???

Okay.... so this day is TICKING away! Time for lunch. I thought DD and I might head out for lunch, but she is still bogged down with Chemistry homework, so maybe we'll head out later. I still need a few groceries and some Easter goodies for DS! TTYL.......................P

WOW, that quiz was SO random!! I've never done one of those. I HATE the answer I got (Mad Tea Party) because I can't even ride it without wanting to toss my cookies!! So I'm going to try again. I honestly couldn't even FATHOM where they were going with some of those crazy questions!

I'm jealous, DD got Space Mountain.

Off to try again..................

**************

WHAT!!!!????? I got Mad Tea Party AGAIN!! That's just CRAZY!! Okay... I guess I've got to accept it. Here's is what is says about me.....

Spin around and take a bow, because being awesome is your cup of tea! Your friends get dizzy just trying to keep up with you. You may not be the fastest or most exciting ride, but you’re a classic with serious style.

Okay..... I guess I can be alright with being a "classic with serious style"!!
