Did we make the right choice with Pop?!

My family has been to Disney numerous times, and have stayed at a variety of hotels including POR, AKL, CBR, etc. This time it will be my mother, my sister, my brother, and myself on the trip. Originally had a standard room booked at POR but with the summer promo it was actually cheaper for us to get two separate rooms at Pop. We did this thinking that now everyone has their own bed and we have double the bathrooms. We loved POR but have never been to Pop. Don't spend much time in the rooms because we are always in the park. Did we make the right choice?

I think so.
We've stayed at POR/POFQ and we love Pop!

I have stayed at both POP and POR.
I would take 2 rooms at POP over 1 at POR... especially if you spend most of your time at the parks. Seems like a no brainer to me!

Definitely! Especially if you are not spending much time in the room. Pop is great!

Thanks for the info, I usually stay at POR but, just booked a late trip staying at Pop as I got a great rate and cashback from Expedia, due to go back to POR in October, but, if I enjoy Pop this trip I very well may change it to Pop for October and have a bit more spending cash

POP is awesome!! We are staying there again this summer and it is one of our fave Values. Make sure you try the tie-dyed cheesecake from their food court - it's the ONLY place in WDW that you can get it. Have fun!!

Over the 17 years we have been going to WDW we have stayed at all the moderates and values. For a value resort our family likes Pop Century the most. We actually did not expect to and found it to be the value that we liked the theming, food court, and activities best. We tried AoA last summer and did not like and wished we had stayed at Pop. Remember you can visit AoA for eating and just walking around.

I agree with this. i've been to both POR & POP and while we love POR, Pop is our "home" resort. Last trip was awesome. We got a ground floor room in the 60's facing the lake, corner room. We'd walk over to the bridge and watch dozens of huge turtles swim (they come up if you drop goldfish crackers or bits of bread in the water). The view of the lake is so serene. A couple of times I took the short walk over the bridge to AoA. Its wonderful!

POP really does have the best entertainment staff out of all resorts we've stayed.

Thank you so much everyone! I was nervous because I've never stayed at a Value but I really think that with all the extra space and your feedback it was a good change!

We own DVC and I've stayed at nearly all the deluxes and a moderate (POFQ) once. So I was VERY nervous about staying at Pop for the Princess Half Marathon. Guess what? I thought it was just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Very clean, lots of fun decorations, rooms was clean and cute. Bed was comfortable(my biggest concern). Noise was minimal(my second biggest concern).

Have fun!
