Our first family trip was in August 2012. Before that, it was about 1975 when I went with my parents.

When we took our kids, I insisted on rope drop for MK open our first day. It was so fun to watch! Of course, I was an absolute puddle of tears - my Dad's dream had always been to take his grandchildren to Disney. Sadly, he passed away before he was able to do it. It had been 7 years since he passed when we took the kids, but all I could think of at rope drop was "dad should be here" and I was done for. But it was a magical first impression for us, and when we go in May, rope drop at MK is going to be our first day!
