Party of 4 what is possibility of us getting Aligator Bayou

Hi Everyone My family and I will be at POR from April 27th to May 4th it will be me and my Two Daughters and My husband, My older Daughter absolutely hates sharing a bed, I was hoping that we would be put in one of the rooms in Aligator bayou so that my Younger Daughter could sleep on the murphy bed, do Partys of 4 ever get placed in those rooms?

Welcome to the Dis.

The only way to be guaranteed an AB room is to book a preferred room. All of the preferred rooms are located in AB. If you only want a standard room, all you can do is make a request. But they can't guarantee that your request will be granted.

Some families just bring an air mattress with them. And then stand it up against a wall when not in use.

We are a family of 3 and always we have been assigned the mansion section...until last year. We booked a preferred room. Good luck!!!

Since there are more AB rooms than mansion rooms (since royal rooms are a separate booking category), your chances are actually better than average. I've stayed at POR twice as a solo and got AB both times (one time requested, one time not).

The only time we were able to get AB was when we were a party of 5. Last year we requested AB and was assigned a mansion room (party of 4).

POR is a great resort run by very, very kind & helpful people. My suggestion is to ask at check-in for an Alligator Bayou room with a Murphy bed. I am sure that if it is possible, they will help you.

Good luck to you! Crossing my fingers for good luck!

I would think your chances are pretty good. It's a huge resort with LOTS of rooms. If at first you don't get a room in AB, I would definitely ask again and see if they can meet your request. Good luck!

(P.S. It has been a while but DH and I stayed in AB by ourselves and again as a family of four)

When you make the reservation or do online check in request an extra bed

It's been years since I stayed at POR, however, DH and I actually requested the mansions but got put in AB building 15. This was back before they had preferred rooms, but I think that room would have been preferred. I was soooo glad we didn't get our request for a mansion room because this room was so rustic and cute and so close to everything! I suppose we were put there because we'd paid for a king room. We were on the 2nd floor corner of building 15 and it couldn't have been a better location!

We are a family of four and have requested the bayou each time and have received it each time. We travel during peak times as well - spring break and Xmas week.

I recently booked there, and requested AB. She informed me it was a preffered room, and would cost a little more. I was happy to pay it as I like that section very much.

There are King rooms in the mansions, so maybe there weren't any available when you were there.

Actually, you didn't need to pay more for a preferred room unless you wanted to guarantee getting AB. All preferred rooms are in AB, but not all AB rooms are preferred.
