Multiple rooms

Large family, booking multiple rooms on one reservation. Want to do dining plan. Does anyone know if the dining credits would be separated by rooms or would everyone have access to the same pool of credits? Seems like it would be confusing if everyone had access to four rooms worth of dining plan credits.

They are separated by room.

yes they are separated by rooms, we just went this past December. I have a family of 5 myself, so my sis was kind enough to allow my DS to stay in her room at WL, WL only allows 4 people and an infant unless we stayed in their Villas.
So my DS's dinning credits was on her room. Another thing, just FYI, fast passes is something we had a hard time with, it was very hard to get my DS's time to line up with the rest of the family since he was in a different.

WL's was great about getting all of our rooms together, we had a total of 4 rooms, and one of the rooms paid for a different view.

We're going to need two rooms when we go next year. I'm hoping to book AP packages with my pass. :-). If the pot of dining credits are kept separately for each room, do the occupants of both rooms need to be on the same plan?

Each room can have a separte plan. Each occupant of the same room have to be on the same plan.

No, they can be on different plans, room A could have deluxe dinning and room B could have quick service, for example. I've not done this, but another nice option is different park tickets, one year I purchased park hoppers plus water parks for one room as they were younger and likely to use them, but did not get the WP option for the other room which was occupied by the more senior crowd who were not interested in visiting water parks.
