If we go to Boma for breakfast, are there things we can explore at AKL after?

We have never visited AKL. We will not be staying there on our next trip, but we are going to have breakfast at BOMA one morning. Are there any areas that we can explore as non-resort guests?

Yes, you can wander around the lobby looking at all the decorations and go outside to the savannah area to watch the animals.

As the pp said, you can walk around the lobby as well as outside and check out the beautiful grounds and watch the animals.

Definitely! Be sure to wander around outside to see the animals. There are guides out there in certain spots to tell you about the different animals on the savanna. In the lobby too their are usually cultural exhibits set up and guides to tell you about them. We love AKL!

I like to pick a different resort each trip to eat breakfast at and then wonder around. Eating at Boma on a previous trip made us want to stay there and we did, we loved it. But it fun to explore different resorts.

There are lots of great animal viewing areas to see. The main one at the back of the lobby is amazing - but if you take a walk past the pool, there are a few really great ones there as well as the flamingo area. The gift shop is huge and worth a look as well - some very unique and interesting things as well as the standard Disney gift shop stuff.

We are just back from 13 days at AKL. There are activities that happen, especially in the morning, that didn't seem to be limited to resort guest only, such as animal tracking and animal enrichment.

Regardless, the Savannah views are fabulous. Enjoy!

Every time we go to Boma we plan on either getting to AKL early, staying late, or both. We love being able to see the savannah and animals while strolling around the hotel, both inside and out.

AKL is a very special place that we look forward to visiting every trip. Great hotel with wonderful restaurants. The whole thing, atmosphere and location can't be beat.
Hope you have a great time!

You can also wander over to the Kidani Village (part of AKL) to view their savannah. I'm not sure if they have different animals or not. And, if you find yourselves at the lodge more toward evening, you could check out the night vision goggles. They help you to see the animals on the savannah at night; pretty cool.
