WDW and DL each have their on separate annual passes. If you want an AP that allows you to go to both, you will need to purchase the Premier Passport.

You can do this. As others have said, I believe that it is called the premier AP. I looked into it and it was expensive--about $1000. I think we figured that you would need 2 WDW trips and 1 Disneyland trip in a year to make it worth it

Saying which Disney destination is better is like asking a Mom which kid she loves the most

I actually looked into this because we're SoCal residents and love WDW as well. It just didn't make economic sense to us. There was one year when we went to DL 12 days out of the year and WDW 9 days, and we figured that with the AP discount for resort stays, parking, dining and merchandise it would have made sense for that one year, but that was highly unusual.

If you are a DVC member, you can currently buy the Premier pass for $849, which is $130 off the regular price. This is only $180 more than the premium Disneyland only pass is going fro right now. You do have to purchase before April 30th though, but you can keep the voucher for up to a year before activating it, then it is valid for one year after that.

We are DL APs and are planning to spend two weeks at Disney World next year to celebrate me finishing my masters. I did a lot of math and figured out that the price difference between the DL Premium and the WDW/DL Premier would be less than park-hopping water-park tickets, plus the option of AP room discounts and the ability to do Tables in Wonderland. But we would only do it for a trip that was 10+ days, in order to truly reap the benefits.
