Question Yacht Club Dec 2015 - Really sold out?

My hubby went to book our trip for next year, as an early Christmas present. We talked about trying out the Beach Club next year, but he was checking out the Yacht Club for next December 2015, and there is no availability. We did book at the Beach Club.

Can the YC really be sold out already? or is there some type of holding date until rooms are released?

Just curious. Sorry if this is common knowledge.

What dates were you looking for? I just put in a random periods in December (12/8-12/14 and 12/24-12/27, two adults) and rooms showed as available (mostly garden). The room type options decreased when I added a weekend stay. If you look for a specific room type and it's sold out for just one night of your stay, the system may show that there are no room available when you try to book a stay.

I see availability for 1/5-1/7 (so Sat and Sun night), but not for 1/3-1/5 (so Thu and Fri night). I don't know what would be causing that, unless as you said, there is a conference/convention that is blocking out a large chunk of the rooms that week.

Thanks for responding. Not sure either. It was meant to be that we try the Beach Club next year

My husband's profession holds a big conference at the YC that week every year.

I was also wondering what was going on there, assumed renovations.

YC is our favorite resort. We were at WDW Dec. 1-5. When I was looking for reservations for that trip, back when the discounts came out, the only thing available at YC for that time period was garden view, so we decided to book BWI. We enjoyed BWI, but wanted to book a bounce back for YC next November for F&W. Again, the only rooms that were offered were the garden views, so we are going back to BWI.

You can google to try and make your "vacation a magical deal". You may find availability to the Yacht Club. We were going back and forth between the Polynesian and (sold out) Yacht Club for the same month as you and ended up with the Polynesian due to the prices being so similar and proximity to the Magic Kingdom.
