Kids club/oceaneers club question

Hello
Someone had mentioned to me that they heard there are specific times where a person can bring their children to these clubs... that there are "black out" times. Is this true? We were under the impression that they can be brought there at any time.
I ask because friends of ours will be trying to book reservations for various wine, beer tastings, and wanted to do this "kid-free"; and didn't want to find out later that they weren't accepting kids into the clubs at a particular time.
Any help or clairification would be helpful! Thanks!
Oh... We'll be sailing on the Dream.

The Club and Lab do have open house times where a parent would need to escort the child. When the Club has open house the kids can go to secure programming in the Lab and vice-versa. Both areas are open to kids 3-12.

The only "black-out" times would be when the clubs are closed (usually after midnight until morning around 8 or 9 am).

Maybe it's referring to the fact that there are "open House" hours where adults must accompany their child to the club in question, and the fact that other than those hours only the child is allowed to enter the club. "Black Out" for the parents accompanying them.

Some of this you may know, but I thought it'd be nice to lay it all out...

There are two separate spaces, the Club and the Lab. They're located somewhat 'across the way' from each other and kids can move freely between them. (If you gave them check out privileges, they go by themselves; if you didn't give them check out privileges, then two CM's will accompany them to the other space).

When the Club/Lab is operating (9am-midnight), there are two 'modes' (for lack of a better term): Normal and Open House.

In Normal 'mode', kids are in the space w/out parents and (unless you gave them check-out privileges), they can't leave unless a person w/ permission to do so checks them out. Parents cannot go past the 'gate' except just briefly at drop off/pick up. On the Navigators, this thing I'm calling Normal mode is really referred to as "secured programming".

In Open House 'mode', the space is open to anyone. If families have kids who are normally too old to be allowed in but who want to be able to play w/ the younger siblings, this is the time to do it. If families (for whatever reason) would prefer to be in the space w/ their kids, this is the time to do it. If people don't have kids and just want to see what the space is like, this is the time to do it. If parents want to take pics of their kids being all cute, this it the time to do it. (In Normal mode, parents aren't technically allowed to take pics due to privacy concerns w/ people possibly taking pics of kids who aren't their own).

And now to answer your question...

Only one space will be in Open House 'mode' at a time. When a space is scheduled to switch from Normal to Open House mode, the CM's round up all the kids and escort them to the other space. The other space is in Normal mode so now the kids are back in "secure programming". There aren't really any "black out" times. One of the two spaces is always operating (between 9am and midnight). The *worst* thing that could happen is that a kid will be in one space having a grand ol' time when the CM's will tell them all it's time to finish up what they're doing cause everyone's moving to the other space. The kid might not be thrilled about that, but the CM's likely "talk up" the fact that everyone's moving ("Come on, we're all gonna do something super fun over at the other space...!") and it likely all goes smoothly enough.

BOTTOM LIFE: Between 9am and midnight on any given day, parents should feel free to schedule any adult-only time they want. Of the two spaces, one will always have "secured programming" going on.

Haha, it took me too long to write that reply (kids kept interrupting) and in the meantime others wrote and you replied! :-) Oh well, hopefully my detailed response will still be helpful for someone :-)

Actually, I'm not sure who moderates this board, but I actually do think my explanation of how Club/Lab works is pretty good- maybe it can be a made a 'sticky'? I think the question of how that stuff works is a common one...

We had a Palo reservation one morning of our Fantasy cruise a few weeks ago. We had planned on putting our 4 year old into the Oceaneer's Club, but the Club had an open house from 9 am to 11 am. The Oceaneer's Lab, unfortunately had an open house from 10:30 am to 12pm. So, there was a half hour period of time where our son would be unsupervised in a secure area. Palo, thankfully, had an opening that evening for dinner reservations, so we rebooked for the evening (It was our anniversary, so we really wanted some "adult time").

Anyway, we had checked the Navigators every day up until that day (Thursday) to make sure that this particular situation didn't happen, so I don't know if it was just overlooked that day by the clubs or what.
