Fantasy Deck Preference?

Hi Y'all,

We just decided to move our 4 day Dream cruise in December to a 7 day Fantasy EC in November.

We sailed Fantasy WC in July and were midship on Deck 9 in a verandah room - loved it! However, there isn't any availability there at this time to accommodate our extended family (we need 4 rooms, preferably in close proximity).

Looks like our best options are Deck 10 aft (under Cabanas) or Deck 7 midship. I'm torn and would love any feedback you can provide.

The recommendations from this board made our last trip AMAZING, looking forward to spending more time here (and obsessing) once more! Thanks!

We prefer midship to avoid too much motion. Under cabanas might be noisy with chairs scraping, etc. My vote is midship!

Generally, you want a deck that has other staterooms above and below you. Decks 7, 8, and 9 are the best choices. Parts of Decks 6 and 10 can work too. In your case, I'd go with 7.

One thing that is annoying, on any cruise ship, is that the cruise lines won't tell you what is below the lowest passenger deck. If you want a room on Deck 2 (basically your only option if you want oceanview), you're taking a gamble with what is below.

Another vote for midship, especially considering that you'll be RIGHT under Cabanas, although it is fairly quiet up there late at night since everything is pretty much closed.

We've stayed forward/midship on decks 6, 8 & 9 and liked all the rooms. Next cruise is deck 10 forward. With just my wife and me, we like to be as close to the spa and adult areas as possible.

We have 4 veranda's for our family cruise on Nov 8th. 6660, 6658, 6654, and 6652. Two sets of connecting veranda's with a room in between - the best we could find. Since we have 5 children in the group, I'm looking forward to the location right next to the aft stairs and almost above the Oceaneer rooms.

We were on deck 7 aft of the Fantasy last month and loved deck 7. A few flights down to shows, clubs, dining rooms. A few flights up to Cabana's and pool.

We have been on the Dream and Fantasy, both Deck 8. I stressed over the decision like it was the biggest one of my life. I have decided that deck 8 is a very good compromise, so deck 7 midship would also be perfect. Sandwiched between two other decks of cabins and not far to anything on either deck. We were aft this last cruise and i would definitely take midship over aft. We have miship, Deck 8 booked for our next B2B.

We were on Deck 7 last time on the Fantasy, and booked Deck 7 again for our next cruise. We were happy with the location, fairly central to lower & upper decks.

We've sailed 11 times on all 4 ships & with the exception of 3 cruises in concierge, have always stayed on Deck 7 (Forward, Aft & Mid ship) for the reasons noted above.

We sailed the Fantasy midship, Deck 7, room 7102. We did love the floor and midship location. My only drawback was that the life boats mid-ship are located directly below Deck 7. Meaning if you look down, you are looking at the lifeboats. They do not block your view straight out to sea. Not really a big deal, but it might bother some.

I would be nervous about Deck 10 under Cabanas. Potential chair scraping noises and all that. We were below the pool deck once (on the Magic) and the noise above from lounge chairs moving around did bother us.

We loved AFT on Deck 8 on the Dream. A quick walk upstairs to Cabanas or to the drink stations. A little rumbling of the engines when the captain used the reverse thrusters to back the ship to port (Nassau and CC).

But I wouldn't stay on Deck 10 as it's right below and you'll hear some noise.

Mid ship is conveniently closed to the front or the back of the ship, but the mid elevators are the busiest ones.

We love midship 7.... we took the stairs alot, so just a few levels up or down depending on where you are going. Also, much less movement midship.

Thanks for the feedback! I think my BIL is of the mindset that higher=better but I had reservations about being under Cabanas. Now I can present some objective opinions based on my independent research.

I also found some rooms on Deck 8, DH and I will definitely book there or on 7. I appreciate your help, and I'm sure I'll have many more questions over the next several months.

Happy Friday!

We were rm 6682 aft on the fantasy lived it was great to get to cabanas and a nice little walk to midship past animators. So either 7 or 8 would be awesome too.

I think I'm the only one to say this so far... I loved our cabin on deck 10 under Cabanas. We had 10646 and I'd book it again in a heart beat and it was extremely quiet. I've also stayed more mid/forward on deck 10 in 10566 and it was a big difference (loud noises and chairs scraping, kids running). The reason why the Cabanas one was so quiet in my opinion is because it's carpeted above!

Again, don't let the fact it's potentially under Cabanas scare you.
