OBB and Dreams Unlimited

Hi Dis family! I'm cruising on the Dream on 2/9 and my boyfriend and I are planning to book a future, 7 day cruise while on board. We have never used Dreams Unlimited before, but it is our understanding that they too offer OBC. Can those of you who have used them tell me exactly what information you need to provide Disney to have them transfer the ressie to Dreams Unlimited? Do I need to provide a specific agent name? If so, tell me who you use and what you love about him/her! TIA

Whenever we have booked whilst on-board we have asked them to note DU as our travel agent. That way you will get the DCL OBC and the DU one as well

It is worth emailing DU with your reservation number when you get home, just in case DCL don't feed it though to them for any reason

I don't think you have to specify a particular agent but we always use Tracey Heinrichs so DCL adds her name as well as the DU company name

Just a quick note, if you plan to use them for sure, defiantely list them while on board! We booked a few weeks ago while on board and were in a rush and drew a blank on TA name so they told me I had 30 days to list it and could do it once I returned home, well after returning home and checking with Dreams Unlimited to make sure it was ok to list them I was told by DU that I would not receive the full OBC b/c it was now considered a "transferred" reservation from DCL to them and the commission would be lower therefore they couldn't offer the full OBC of $200. So needless to say we missed out on the $200 OBC. So defiantely list them while on board!

To clarify...

If you book onboard, you will get DCL OBC of $100 (cruises 3-6n) or $200 (cruises 7n+) regardless of naming a TA or not.

If you name a TA at the time of OBB, the TA will be able to give you the full amount of OBC they promise. In the case of DU, this is a sliding scale based on the total cost of the cruise.

If you DO NOT name a TA, then DCL holds the reservation. DCL however allows you transfer the reservation to a TA within 30 days of making it. If you DO transfer the reservation, the commission given to the TA by DCL will be less and hence your OBC offered by the TA will be less.

That said, some TAs offer a fixed benefit regardless of being a new booking or transferring it (for example AAA) but these tend to be less than what other TAs (such as DU) give out.

After 30 days of booking, you cannot transfer the reservation to a TA - period. Naming a TA or transferring does not affect DCL OBB offers (DCL OBC 100/200, 10% discount, 10% deposing on 7n+)

Hope this helps...

All of this information is so very helpful. Another question that comes to mind...if I book two cruises (one for my family another in the name of family friend we will be traveling with), do both rooms receive both Disney OBC and DU OBC?

Disney OBC yes. DU not sure if they do two OBC based on the cost of each stateroom or one OBC based on the total cost if both staterooms are under the same reservation. I would imagine you may want to have both reservations separate and simply linked...
