Thumbs up "Dream Vacation" 3.6.14 "Just the the two of us"

Just returned from my first cruise and our 30th anniversary trip on the Dream. I can't imagine cruising with anyone but Disney. We booked a stateroom with a verandah and had the handicapped accessible room at the back of the ship-which was a bit bumpy in the aft- hardly noticeable, but worth the 65 foot verandah. I would love to get this room again.

Being nauseous was a huge fear of mine-I did not take anything, but did have a glass of wine (we brought on board) each night. We did not go into Nassau, but stayed on the ship, leisure brunch, sunning on our private verandah. We did two tours: The "art of the theme" tour - highly recommend this as you get to tour Palo and Remy and discover details I would never have noticed)- I think they do it once a day- but we were the only 2 who showed up so it was a private tour. Also did the "Making of the Dream". My husband loves these kinds of facts about the ship. Cleanliness- impeccable!!!!

Also picked up from this message board: book the $16 Rainforest pass for one day pass buy it before you leave. This was really nice, no one was in there on the Nassua Day....I probably would not have done the length of cruise-but nice to check it out...they are only open till 10pm not much time after the late seating dinner for the hot tub. Opted instead for "Saving Mr. Banks" at midnight.

We also hopped off the ship to take a picture of the Dream next to Norwegian and Carnaval- nothing makes you more proud than hearing those horns play your favorite Disney musical phrases!!

We were seated with another couple celebrating their 30th and veteran cruisers (Platinum) - so we picked their brain on all other cruises - standard answer-"once you do Disney- you will never go back"! We had a great time with them! Disney pays such attention to the details.

This was apparently a full ship- with lots of families- but not one time did we feel like it was over run with kids. In fact it was the opposite- where were they? The adult area of the ship is great, very quiet- but with its own entertainment, Serenity Bay (the adult of Castaway) is really beautiful. The District (night club area for adults only) is fantastic with events going on all the time. We chose Disney for our first time cruising because I don't like people drinking alot (Drunks), we don't gamble and don't like smoking. The shows were really fabulous and very entertaining. I cried at "Believe". The service is better than you can ever imagine and the food is superb. This is their standard!

Dummy cruise- we booked it for 6 and are bumping it back so we can go before summer. It may be expensive- but you get what you pay for with Disney. We want to share the experience with our family. Can't wait to get my lanyard and become a member of the Castaway Club!!!!

Congrats on 30 years and thanks for sharing your review. We are sailing on our 1st cruise on the Dream in August for our 20th. Our son's ages 17 and 15 will also be sailing. My husband commented the other day that he didn't think he want to get off the ship at Nassau so it was nice to hear that there things to do onboard while everyone is off.

If there is anything else that you would recommend doing please feel free to let me know.

Thanks for sharing.....I like Disney for the same reason you said.....not big drinkers ....i do not need a casino...not interested....love the service....cleanliness....the beautiful decor...

My family will be on our 4th cruise this summer, 2nd time on the Dream......
I too can not imagine ever cruising another line.

I did cruise Carnival once, it was what I need to try DCL..

Quick question...how did you buy the Rainforest Pass before you got on board? I can not find that anywhere!

Thanks!

Rainforest and Steel Band?

The Rainforest day pass I purchased under the "gifts" section once you log in on Disney Cruise website.

They did have a fabulous steel drummer who played in the adult pool area. My husband is a drummer so you can imagine he just wanted to watch him.
He was very personable too- answering all of my DH questions.
