I have never brought kids in there myself, but I have heard some not great stories from trip reports where the kid seemed brave enough, but ended up not liking it.

If your DD is NOT a fan of loud noises, lots of them, frequently, then I would suggest against it. The dinosaurs get pretty loud, and the meteor showers and such happen quite often. I did find that it was a little quieter in the ice cave room, but the ice cave does change color frequently which bothered my head lol.

Otherwise, a good meal!

It is not scary. It is just very loud. There is one room with really crazy lighting too. We usually ask to not sit in that room when we go.

Scary? Yes.
Dinosaurs come out of the dark at you. Big scary ones. I've seen a LOT of traumatized kids coming out of there.

Of course, everyone is different. My DD was fearless at that age but not tall enough. How does DD do on other dark rides?

Omg I'm so so sorry. I thought you meant the ride.
No, absolutely not.

Haha. I think OP is talking about the restaurant in downtown Disney... not the ride. Some people might be traumatized over their bill in the end though . Just teasing!!

Another vote for "loud but not scary" unless your DD is extremely timid. We have a TRex locally and have been taking DD a few times a year since she was 3 (free birthday meals!) with no troubles. FWIW, we actually like the food there - especially the coconut chicken tenders!

My kids were a little nervous the first time they ate at one, but they were 3 and 1. Now they ask to eat there (at 5 and 3). We don't do the one at WDW because we visit other towns where they are located.

DS7 has gone there once a year since they opened. He has never found it scary, but he has complained that it was too loud in the past - especially during the meteor shower!

Thank you all very much !!! DD usually doesn't have a problem with loud noises so I think we will try !!!! I plan on getting her a build a bear GC in her Easter basket so I'm sure that will help her get through her meal knowing she can make a Dino :-)

I'm glad we tried and DD really enjoyed the displays but it was so incredibly loud we will not be back Seriously not the displays but the shear number of people crammed in the restaurant, we had to practically scream to hear each other
