Quackattack, I'm looking forward to "meeting" you and your family!
My family are pretty good sports about this. I think I have been "warming them up" to the idea with matchy matchy shirts at WDW for the last few trips.

The Pirate costumes are adorable! I did struggle a little like D~ to distinguish who's was who's. My guess is the black one with sparklies is Charity's?

I can't wait to see what you come up with for Halloween costumes!

Rochelle welcome to the crazy world of the DISboards! Looking forward to your introductions.
Well, the black with skull and crossbones is for Jillian. Yeah, in hindsight I realize that it may not have been easy to tell whose was whose. Sorry!

Yes, I impress myself sometimes with these things. You should have seen Gabe the first time it happened. The child was TRAUMATIZED!!! I caved and gave him a one time pass on it...but he knows it will stick next time!

Weekly Disney Activity #1

One thing I started a few months ago was a weekly Disney themed activity for the cruise countdown. I have not been very consistent with it, but plan to stick with it better now. The activities are not going to be big, just a little something to keep us in the Disney spirit until sail away. We had our first one of the new year last night. The kids wrote letters to a character of their choice. I got the address from Pinteres, and supposedly, they will get an autographed photo in return. I did not let them know this, because I did not want to set them up for a disappointment. I just told them we were going to send letters, and hopefully they will get a surprise in the mail in a few weeks.

Thanks to one of our magical packages from Cheekypoppins a few months ago, we had some special stationary to write our letters on:

Here are the children writing the letters:

And here they are, ready for the mailbox:

Jillian wrote to Mike Wazowski, Gabe wrote to Sully, and Charity wrote to Princess Tiana.

Here is a funny little side story from last night. When I looked at Charity's envelope it was address to Princess "Tina". She was able to correct it nicely, but we were giving her a hard time. "Oh, you are my favorite, Princess Tina!" Etc. Well, Gabe is our little goober and blurted out "You are my biggest fan, Princess Tuna!" WE. DIED.

I'm here, I'm here!!! Another ptr for me (since I am doing so well keeping up with all of the other ones.....) Hopefully now that the holidays and birthdays are over I will be able to spend some more time on the DIS......but I definitely can't miss this one!!

I love the savings chart! Now that my DH actually knows how much we are spending I may be able to do a version of this.....although, maybe I shouldn't keep reminding him!!!

I also made a savings jar a few weeks ago. The girls have been looking around for change to put in there every day so it seems to be going pretty well Their mamaw gave them each $100 bucks for their birthday in Disney GC so they already have their souvenir money, but every little bit helps. Maybe this will help pay for gas hehehehe

Those pirate costumes are awesome. We are doing a pirate themed day on our trip. Guess I should've bought costumes after Halloween. the thought never crossed my mind. Oh well, mom did make us matching pirate mickey shirts for that day so I guess we are covered!!

Okay, not too far behind since I lost my internet for two days.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pirate costumes. They are absolutely perfect! And I love the kids saving jars and your savings on the refrig (a great way to remind the kids why a no is in order).

Princess Tuna? I love it.

I hope the kids get their surprises from the characters soon.

[QUOTE=oopsiDAISY;50532384]How cool is that? I would love to see a picture of the savings banks!

Okay, here you go

These have been around FOREVER! They are really hard to get the money out of when it's full, but I like that. Keeps us from breaking into them for anything other than the real thing.

Hi Quackattack! Can't wait to "meet" you too

So oopsi....I hope your letters are answered better than ours were. I got an address from Pinterest too. Bradey wrote three letters a week apart, one to Mickey, one to Goofy and one to Chip n Dale. He got one response. They say you get a personalized signed postcard from the character you wrote to. Well, you know the generic post card with them all on it that they send you after you return home from a trip? Has most of the characters and their "signatures" on it and says Thanks for Coming or something like that? Well that is what he got back. He was so disappointed. I hope you get better responses than that.

I loved your colorful post!!! It made me smile.

What was equally funny about his comment was basically that Princess Tuna was CHARITY's biggest fan, rather than vice versa. He is such a goober. Love that kid!

No pictures of the jars? Well, you know the Dis... it didn't happen if there is no picture..

WELCOME!!! Glad you made it over!!

Yes, the savings jars are a great idea, and so is the chart. It helps us all keep our eyes on the prize!

I do hope they get something in return. I have chosen not to mention it at all again. Maybe they will forget about it, and then if something does come it will be a nice magical surprise.

I LOVE those banks...so cute!!!

What a debbie downer with the mickey mail! I have chosen tto not bring the subject up. If they forget about it, there won't be disappointment. If they get something, it will just be a great surprise. If nothing else, we had fun writing the letters.

Cheeky is suffering the winter and Disney blues at the same time. I have chatted with her on FB a few times. She will be back sometime after she perks up a bit. This has been an especially tough winter for everyone, and it has wreaked havoc on her emotions/moods. Just keep her in your prayers!

Weekend Pixie Dust

We had a little bit of pixie dust this weekend in the oopsiHOME.

While doing my weekly shopping at Walmart, I decided to part with a bit of my Christmas money (not the portion that went into my savings jar ). I spotted something I could not resist...Mickey Jammies!!!

They are going straight into the tote for the cruise. It will be nice to have some cute new jammies to wear on the cruise.

When I got home from shopping, I had MICKEY MAIL!!! I had a package from one of my new cruise Disfriends, krdotson... she sent us some fun stuff to hang on our verandah door during the cruise:

THANK YOU, Robin!!!!! So once again...Disfriends are the BEST friends!
