BWV studio questions

I am thinking of renting DVC points to stay at BWV in a studio for DD's 21st birthday celebration. What is the difference between "standard" and "preferred" studios? Also, I see that the bedding has several variations in the BWVs. Is there any way to request specific beds? We would need two queens, or a king w/a sofa bed… are the sofa beds full size and comfortable?

All BWV studios have a queen bed and a double sofabed. Some studios also have a small bench (not really a daybed, more like a crib size mattress). There is no option for a king bed in a studio. 1 bedrooms have a king bed and a queen sofabed. 2 bedrooms are a combination of a studio and a 1 bedroom.

Standard view face the front driveway or the valet parking lot. Preferred view is split into 2 categories - pool/garden and boardwalk view, you reserve one or the other.

The sofa beds are a gamble. Sometimes they are okay and other times they are lumpy. I guess it depends on how often they were used. Younger people seem to handle them okay but older people (like me) would not be happy.

as stated, it relates to the view. more practically, if you are booking at less than 10-11 months out, preferred view is likely all that will still be available.

DVC resorts are pretty standardized as far as bedding goes. OKW is the only DVC resort with 2 queens in a studio. if you wanted a king bed, 1BRs are your only option.

of the 3 views, preferred pool/garden is about 60% of resort, preferred BW view (same points as p/g view), and standard view (low points) are about 20% each.
standard view is a great point value, and although BW view costs more, is still a great value for an amazing view. obviously , BW & standard views go first (BWV owners can book at 11 months out), and it is often difficult to get a those views for a continuous week at 7 months prior (and just about impossible during the F&WF, and holidays) - when points from other DVC resorts can be used.

we haven't had problems with the (new) BWV sofabeds (29yo DD sleeps on it when i get the queen - it's pretty comfy).

as others said, you would need a 1bdrm, or consider OKW for the room configuration you want.
