Window decorating at ASmusic? Other decor?

I'm so excited about our upcoming wdw trip--haven't been for a decade and taking our kids, 2 and 4.

We recently decked out our door on a disney cruises with magnets ....is there something comparable at wdw? What do I need to know??

Many thanks!.

1. How did you attach magnets to a wooden door (if it is wood)
2. Most likely not. If you use window paints, they'll most likely get mad. If you use stickers, they will also most likely get flustered. If you are somehow using magnets on a wood door (I know for a fact they're wood at ASMu), I'm unsure if they'd allow you to do that on the outside part, but maybe inside. maybe.

Indeed, the doors on DCL are metallic so magnets stick. Good to know the resort doors are wooden.

Maybe there's no door or window decorating at the wdw resorts??? I read a post that led me to believe that people might decorate windows...so that's why I asked. But maybe I misunderstood. I agree stickers would be difficult. Of course I don't want to cause any damage.

People decorate their windows (and I think their doors) at the values and moderates all the time. (I think the main reason you don't typically see it at deluxes is that with the indoor hallways, nobody really walks past the windows.) You just can't use anything that would leave a mark when it's removed (window clings would be a good choice). For ideas, check out this thread:

My family stayed at ASMu this past August. The resort doors are metal and we decorated our door with lots of magnets.

We also decorated the window with lights attached by suction cups and small decorations that we hung from ribbons attached to a spring curtain rod that we brought from home. No marks!

Lots of people decorate their doors and windows at ASMu. As long as your decorations are temporary and do not damage any of the surfaces you attach them to, no one minds.

Have fun decorating!

Our door at ASMo in April was definitely metal. I'm sure because every night I posted the next day's schedule with a magnet. We brought some cute Disney scrapbooking die-cuts and regular scotch tape for decorating our window and it was easy to remove. There was a cheerleading competition going on at the time, so lots of windows had decorations and signs in them.

Doors at the values and moderates are metal, so magnets are good.

You can decorate your windows as well, lots of people use clings and suction cups to attach things. You want to stay away from window paint markers, and even tape. Anything that might leave a residue is not a good idea; there have been occasional reports over the years of guests getting socked with an extra cleaning fee or being asked to remove decorations, if extra work for housekeeping is involved.

Someone decorated their door at AKV Kidani in December with a wreath! It was so cool! The doors have an African shield of some kind on them so it probably wasn't hard to do.

Do other DVC resorts have decorations on the room doors?

DVC has asked member not to decorate doors or windows. They don't want anything to interfere with the outside appearance of the villas.
