Hyatt MCO and DCL Transportation

Hi,

I am a bit lost on how my DCL Transportation works. For our late January cruise, we are flying into Orlando Friday afternoon, staying at the Hyatt MCO and then taking DCL Transportation on Saturday. I am hoping somebody can help me with a few questions:

1) I didn't receive any special tags-should be have? I assume the transfers are just linked to our DCL tags?

2) If we don't need all of our luggage at the Hyatt can we just put our DCL tags on the luggage and have it sent right to the cruise ship on Friday? Or do we need to pick it all up and bring it with us to the Hyatt? If the latter is true, the Hyatt will deliver it to Disney for us, correct?

Thanks!

You should have received tags for your luggage with your cruise packet; that comes about 3weeks prior so you might not have it yet.
Do NOT put these tags on at home, you will need to collect all of your luggage and bring it to the Hyatt. They will give you instructions about luggage pick up the next morning, you'll leave it in your room and will see it again on the ship. Put the luggage tags on in your Hyatt room.
Enjoy your cruise!

Don't forget to leave a tip with your bags at the Hyatt

We are contemplating using DCL transfer for the outbound flight. I'm flying Southwest from MCO and it is not one of the airlines listed for Onboard Checkins. Does it mean that all I would get from using DCL transfer is the bus ride and not get the benefits of receiving boarding passes onboard and checked luggage? We have a 11:25 am flight and the DCL transfer said no earlier than 11:30 am. Does this mean we can't use DCL transfer because our flight is 5 minutes earlier? How do-able is a 11:25 am flight to MCO on our own?

Yes, with Southwest, you just get the bus transfer. I'm not really sure if the 11:30 time is only if you are using the onboard airline checkin, or if it also applies to just using the DCL transportation.

Thank you! One question, I did receive my DCL tags, I just want to verify that there are not extra DCL transportation tags, just the normal DCL tags?

We have done a Disney cruise before, just not take the transportation.

I can provide a little more info here and piggy back on what PrincessSmoo advised. We've/I've flown Southwest on 6/7 out of my DCL cruises out of MCO and there isn't a requirement for having a later flight and being able to use DCL transfers. I've also used the DCL transfers for every cruise out of Port Canaveral to return back to the airport. Our flight home has typically been in the 12 noon timeframe but there isn't anything preventing someone from using the service if you have an earlier flight. We are usually at MCO by 9:15am and we do prefer to have time on our side and not be stressed and plan for delays but we've never experienced any yet and find we have at least 2 hours to kill there.

Correct - you only need your DCL tags to get your bags/suitcases to the ship that morning.

Have fun,
Heather

Thanks - I may look for other options then. Is it reasonable to assume we'd be off the ship by 9 am?

Yes. DCL wants everyone off by 9:00. The ship is generally cleared for disembarkation by 7:30 or so, so anytime after that.

re HYATT: excellent decision! just did it a month ago! when u get to ck in desk there is a big sign for Disney cruisers. As it is, you put your labels on your bags while in your room, just leave your bags in the room (they will be picked up and brought to the ship for you) go downstairs and walk to Magical Express (it is a bit of a jaunt!) there are 2 buses to take you to the port. Very seamless! Plus you will be in the terminal before anyone else!!

I was off the ship, got my rental car and back in Orlando easily by 9 am but I did skip breakfast and kept my luggage in my room and walked off with it. Exiting the ship was very easy and very quick.

When you say it's a bit of a jaunt, how far are you talking?
