Cost per person?

I hope this isn't now a double post. I just typed the whole thing but I guess I didn't actually post it - can't find it!

So, someone had a thread about how much your 2014 WDW was costing. It was really interesting, but hard for me to compare because there are so many variables to include or not include (transportation, dining, etc.)

Is there a figure that you consider decent when you book? Just include resort (name resort or at least level) and park admission. Per person (adult) per day.

What makes you "do the happy dance?"

If this is a silly question or one that's impossible to answer, I apologize. I know that my trip is costing a little under $200 per person per day for the BWI. I'm curious what others think/do.

Thanks.

It is a double post, lol

But, I am happy with our cost.

We have 10 nights in August at GF CL (SugarLoaf) and 10 day hoppers, so for just room and tickets we are about $143/pp, per day. We are two adults, one Disney adult (10) and child. We have a 40% discount on the room.

I know, it's harder to compare when the entire cost isn't calculated...including Ap's DVC,timeshares, etc etc etc...
If you look at some of the posts, try to find the ones that include all the costs involved...then go from there...for instance, I was a proponent in the 2013 thread of the 'per person, per day' cost breakdown b/c that's how I calculate the cost anyway.... I can't remember my 2013 total, but it was a good deal and I included airfare, park tickets, hotel, food, incidentals, airport parking, dogsitter, etc into the total and divided it per day. It can be confusing but the difference between a great deal and paying full price at Disney can be simply astonishing! -For instance, if I owned DVC, I'd add that calculation into my overall total, rather than just inputting "DVC,free hotel" which it isn't (free) or if I used parts of old park tickets, probably the original cost, divided per day,x how many days used, etc. (It doesn't matter if I paid for them years ago for this purpose) I enjoy reading the threads and comparing also.... some pay less than I do,some pay more....

I just booked a garden view at the Yacht Club for June 13-18. It was $3100 for five nights and five day base tickets for me, DH and our two DDs (who are under 18 but considered Disney adults). We had a 30% discount on the first three nights with the new offer. It is $155/person/day. I am happy with the cost, but I am still hoping to find a promotion that covers all five nights to bring the cost a little lower.

ah, I found my older post...
Stayed at Dolphin-Total cost for trip, which totaled 12 days (incl. travel days) was 3357.00 (this total includes airport parking, dogsitters, airport food, etc, various car rentals...
I will rethink the rental car thing next time, I think it would have been smarter to just pay a shuttle to/from MCO after all.....
This total averages out to 70 per person, per day all inclusive...and we had SO much fun together,it was priceless!
(this is for 4 Disney adults)
this is Nov. 2013...so my cost for upcoming trips will rise,I'm sure

It's hard to break down all costs for us because we have APs. But room rates, I'm happy with 30% at moderates, and in general, under $200/night for Deluxe. Last August we had room only, at YC for $198/night.

For upcoming trip I had hopes for WL, but discounts were disappointing, and WL pricing has gone up too much after the refurb, so we booked POR.

From one Sue to another - thanks for your post! It makes me feel that I did OK with the $200/night at the BWI with our Park Hoppers for February 1-8.

Generally speaking, I try not to over think these things - it is what it is after all. I do like some positive reinforcement however!!! And since this is our first stay at a Deluxe, I really had nothing personal to compare it to.

January 29th- February 3rd, 2 adults at Port Orleans French Quarter, park hopper and ddp (stay/play/dine) is costing us just under $200 per person per day, but that's a little skewed, since I'm not factoring in our first day, since we don't arrive until 9:30 pm, I'm only dividing the cost of the trip by five days instead of six.

Here are some numbers from my 3 trips this past year w/ friend.

Value resort (w/ AP discount) $100 per day or less
We had AP's but if not I would plan $100/day for admission
We ate on $45/day or less --all CS, no alcohol.

So with AP's, ~$100 per person per day--not including cost of AP.

I just looked at my summary spreadsheet of all our Disney trips since 2005... including the cruises & land/sea trips for four of us (two adults and two now teens) we average $220 per person per day; if I take out the trips that included a cruise portion, the average is $208 per person per day. If I also include trips that were just DH and I, the average goes up to $240 per person per day --- so DH and I obviously spend more when we're alone haha.

And that cost includes everything: from dog boarding to airport parking to every last tip and Mickey bar.

As it should be - hahaha. Honestly, it's so pleasant not paying for my 2 kids on this trip, it doesn't hurt at all to pay a bit more for just hubby and me!!!!

We are two adults and when our total is below $3000, I am satisfied. We usually stay moderate with a king bed, 7-9 days, tickets for the duration with park hopper, and I have always been able to get free dining. With price increases, if we ever get above $3000, I'll be bummed!
