Worth it to buy several 75% off pins to trade?

I was going to buy more just to trade, but am wondering how many I will be able to trade. I read a post that said I will probably only be able to trade these DS pins with the CMs in the parks. I won't be able to trade these at "Pin Traders" in DTD because they don't have to trade with you, like the CM's do. Is that correct? Who is doing the trading at that place? Guests?

DS Pins

To answer your last question first, both guests AND CM's trade at The Pin Traders pavillion at DTD.

Secondly, Cast Members WILL trade with you for DS pins, as long as they do NOT already have the same pin on their lanyard. Pin Traders is not the only place you can trade at DTD. Go in the shops. Check out lanyards on CM's running the registers, stocking shelves and just milling about. Keep an eye out for Disney Management too. Many times you'll find fun or harder-to- find pins on their lanyards.

The real question should be, "who wants/needs DS pins?" Since most of DS pins are inexpensive and readily available, most traders already have them (who want them) and rarely will trade for them. On the other hand, Cast Members have to trade, making them your best bet for trading your DS pins!

Good luck and happy trading!....Disneyboy

frann,

If you have not done a lot of trading with CMs I can understand your questioning how many you might be able to trade. As someone who loves CM lanyard hunting I can tell you that I have absolutely no problems trading 30 to 50 pins in a single day with the CMs. It's amazing how often I find pins I don't have - even pins I've never seen - on the Cast Members. Although I do my share of trading with other guests, I like trading with CMs even more. And as disneyboy pointed out...they're everywhere!

frannn,

Have Fun!! that is the best advice. Trading with a castmember is intimidating at first (trust me I know) but once you get started... you won't stop!

You will even find yourself checking out the lanyards and pins on the workers at WalMart.

But stop at Pin Traders at DTD, watch the seasoned traders. It is a spectacle to behold and you will learn alot about pins there.

And ask questions, most traders are happy to help someone get into trading.
