Port of Starboard for Alaska?

Which side of the ship is best for Alaska to have a good view of glaciers, mountains, etc when in port?

Honestly, you get great views from both sides while cruising and in port on the Alaska cruises. We have been on both sides and did not prefer one to the other.

I agree with Eeyore. I just looked at my pics from this summer. We docked this way - Skagway on port side; Juneau on starboard side; Ketchikan on port side. That would mean there is likely more water and mountains further distance to view from the opposite side, but the scenery is gorgeous either direction all of the time!

I agree with both posters - both sides are beautiful!!

For Tracy Arm the starboard side has the view heading in but then the port side has the same view when leaving and heading out.

Either but Port saw Tracey Arm first and had it longer on our cruise, we were lucky to be forward and see both sides snd Port had the advantage.
