I've never heard of christmas shoes! lol

I have one that I detest! They play 3 different versions of it at my job and I hate it more every time I hear it.

Marshmallow world. UGHHHH!! Worst song. Absolute worst song.

#1. Christmas Shoes is the worst. Absolutely the WORST.
#2. Any Elvis Christmas song (and I'd listen to ALL of them 10 times over if I could avoid the Christmas Shoes, which is the WORST).
#3. Santa Baby
#4. Merry Christmas Darling, but the Carpenters… mostly because it's by the Carpenters.
#5. Christmas Shoes… just in case I didn't make my opinion clear!

Terrible Christmas songs

The radio stations around here have just started playing Christmas songs this past week and I am already sick of:

The Christmas Song
White Christmas
Frosty the Snowman
I'll Be Home for Christmas

I don't necessarily hate these songs, but for crying out loud are these really the only Christmas songs that the formatted radio stations can play?! There are so many really nice songs and carols out there that they really don't need to play the same four or five ones all day long.

Have not heard The Christmas Shoes or Dominic the Christmas Donkey yet this season, but add me to the list of people who hate those songs.

On a happier note (pun intended), check out the video of Pentatonix and their a capella version of Little Drummer Boy. It will blow you away.

1. Christmas Shoes - the song could be a self-parody.
2. Wonderful Christmastime - over and over and over.
3. Grandma Got Ran Over... - it was funny the first couple of times

These are about the only three that make me lunge for the radio dial.

The sing about the cat that was out in the cold and let a mouse cuddle it for warmth and then the cat died...what's it called? A search for dead cat Christmas song yielded no results lol. It's just so depressing!!

4. Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer
5. Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer

1. Santa Baby
2. Feliz Navidad
3. Dominic the Donkey
4. Yellow Snow
5. Walkin Round in Women's Underwear

I used to dislike Rockin Around the Christmas Tree until I saw my toddler dance to it. His joy and hilarious dance moves changed my mind.

Not only is "The Christmas Shoes" my least favorite Christmas song, it's my least favorite song of all time. Ever. Period.

I think that's a love it or hate it song, because a lot of me actually love it. Me? I literally despise it.

Anyway, my bottom 5:

1) The Christmas Shoes
2) Sleigh Bells. Way too many versions of it, and almost all sound the same. Unless you're Leroy Anderson or Arthur Fiedler, I don't ever want to hear your version of it again.
3) Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Unless it's sung with the original lyrics. It's not, "Hang a shining star upon the highest bough." It's "Until then, we have to muddle through somehow." One of my huge Christmas pet peeves.
4) I Want a Hippopotamous for Christmas
5) Same Auld Lang Syne

Trivia: In 1957, Frank Sinatra asked the original lyricist, Hugh Martin, to change "Until then, we have to muddle through somehow" because Frank wanted a more joyous version of the song for his Christmas album.

So while it's not the original lyrics, the original writer did change them.

Even Judy Garland has sung the updated version.

Yes, I knew that the lyrics were changed to make the mood brighter.

Still doesn't mean I have to like it.
