How bad is the water? Drinking, that is?

Call me a water snob if you must, but when we travel we always drink bottled water. When we go to WDW, we always have gallons delivered to our villa, along with a case of bottles to take into the parks with us. I even use it for coffee. The water just tastes icky to me. And I never want to fall prey to stomach issues if the water disagrees with me.

If I understand correctly, if we want to drink bottled water on a DCL cruise, we'll need to pay dearly for it or bring it ourselves. That's a lot of water to lug onboard!! Especially if we're also bringing alcohol! Lol! We don't tend to drink a lot of soda, juice, or punch - which are the only other free options I recall seeing. Obviously we'll enjoy some of those - it is vacation and all - but I can't drink it every meal! :-)

And so I find myself contemplating drinking the water on board. Any comments on how good or bad it is?

I think the water on the ships is just fine. The water that comes out of the taps is the same water that comes out of the drink machines and that is used in the kitchen for iced tea. It's filtered and we think it's delicious.

I don't mind the water in the main dining rooms and I am someone who won't drink water with any "taste" to it. Hope that helps!

Water is technically safe, you drink it at the drink station and it's used for all cooking, showers, bathrooms etc.

Like you we rely on bottle water even more so when traveling and typically take a case on board with us. For the convenience and general taste

The water is Reverse Osmosis (similar to distilled), so it should be pretty much tasteless. If you are accustomed to drinking water that has minerals in it, you may not like the absence of taste from RO water (I know I don't). There are systems available to re-mineralize water for taste and health benefits... here's an example: http://www.santevia.mybigcommerce.com/on-the-go/ A good friend of mine uses these at work because their water filter is RO, she swears by them.

I'm a water freak as well and I drank it. IMO it's better than the bottled water that they offer on the ship.

I tend to drink more water when I have bottled - I didn't find buying the "case" of water (24? Something) so exorbitant especially given the cost of bottled water on property? Or maybe villa-wise it's included or something? But the ship water is fine!

Water relish

I loved the water on the ship and I am also a water snob. It did not have any strange taste to it at it was very clean tasting.

I agree with all the others as well. The water on board is perfectly fine to drink with really no significant taste or smell issues that my family can detect. We refilled water bottles right in the room with absolutely no second thought whatsoever. Take that off your plate and carry on something else.

It was all I drank on our past cruise besides alcohol. Tasted like bottled water to me. I don't even drink the water at my house, we only drink bottled water.

I'm a water snob too (bottled only) until they quoted us $38.00 per case. I was surprised that the 'Mickey' water was okay!

So you refilled water from the bathroom faucet and you were ok? Just want to make sure because we don't drink soda so we'll be drinking mainly water during our cruise. I don't think I would want to keep going back to the drink station to refill my water bottle even if the capacity is 22oz, specially at night once my son goes to bed early.
I was contemplating on getting one of those filtered bottles so I can fill it from the bathroom sink or not.
