I think those rooms are fine and a great value. However, they book very, very quickly so she would have to be an AKV owner and book at the 11 month mark for you to have a shot.

I would not hesitate to stay at AKL if I again had the chance.

I used to own at AKV. We stayed there three times and OKW once. Do yourself a favor and got to AKV. It has a wonderful feeling about it and is unlike anything else at WDW in my opinion. Although the rooms are smaller than OKW, the resort itself is much, much better. Just my opinion, but I say go for it and I think you'll be very happy you did.

AKV value villas book up at the 11 month mark most all the time. You would need to have an AKV owner on standby at the 11 month window to get your desired villa.

Also, keep in mind that the value villas are smaller than regular AKV villas and have different occupancy requirements. They do not have the sleeper chair in them, so I am not sure that your family of 5 would fit in a value 1 bedroom - you might have to bump up to a 2 bedroom, which would be more expensive.

We have stayed at both and I loved OKW but have the most amazing pictures from our balcony of the animals AKV was by far the most amazing place we have stayed. It was just beautiful and we really enjoyed the views.

Pretty much all the value rooms book at 11 months. You might be a able to get standard view at 7 months.

We did our first stay at AKV in October. And we're going back in June. As you might imagine, we LOVED it. We've done OKW a few times and like it as well, but AKV was amazing. Now we are kicking ourselves because we never stayed there in the past. We thought it was "too far away" from everything. We were so wrong!
