Day 4/Part 5

After dinner we made a bit of a mistake, instead of heading straight up on deck to get a spot for the fireworks we went back to the room so I could ditch my purse, then Brian went to get a quick smoke break in and I decided to walk through Cabanas while it was empty and get some pictures. We had planned to meet up on deck 12 to watch the show and the fireworks...we'll see how that works out for us in a few!

Cabanas is really well themed and has so many cute details if you take the time to look. It can be hard during meal times when there are so many people milling about, I highly suggest finding the time to just take a walk through there during the off hours one time. Walk through both sides so you can see both of the Finding Nemo murals, they are different and both are spectacular.

I loved the sand castle art that represented each castle in the Disney theme park family.

They also had port hole clocks on the wall with the current time in each park.

Once I finished my tour I went up to deck 12 expecting that Brian would probably already be there, we had agreed to meet on Port side to narrow down our search area. I walked up and down 3 times and never spotted him so I figured I should probably just find a spot and stay there. He ended up never finding me until everything was over, but two of our table mates ended up right beside me so it was nice chatting and watching with them.

The show is short and entertaining, I was close to the rail so I could see the stage good, unfortunately I was behind a pole and had to duck a little to see the fireworks, but they were still pretty great!

Captain Jack Sparrow kicks off the fireworks with the first one shooting out of his gauntlet.

Cruise 2013 1239 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Once the fireworks are over deck 11 becomes a dance party. We didn't stick around long but they were playing some decent music while we were there.

Once Brian and I reunited we headed into Cabanas for the Pirate Night Buffet. There wasn't a huge selection but everything we tried was tasty. It was my first time trying a turkey leg. In all my visits to the parks I've never had one, so when I found out they were available on this night I made it a goal to try one! I was still pretty full from dinner, so I only ate a few bites of it, but it was soooooo yummy! Love that smokey flavor. Some of the other things they had were a baked potato bar, a taco bar, nachos, and some wraps.

Cruise 2013 1273 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Even if you don't feel like eating anything you should at least take a walk through to check out the watermelon carvings!

After our late night nibbles we headed back to our cabin. When we had been in the room earlier Vivek was turning down the beds and was in the process of making our towel animal for the night, this guy.

Cruise 2013 1275 by princessm112877, on Flickr

I told him how much I adored the towel animals and thanked him for making me smile every night. When we got back to the room that night I had two more friends waiting for me.

I loved these two so much I kept them on the sofa for the rest of the week.

Up next, St. Thomas and relaxing on the ship! I'll try not to take so long for the next update, I promise!

I finally made it back to your TR and found a lot has happened here while I was gone. Now that I'm caught up after the hoildays I promise to do a better job of keeping up. I am really enjoying your report.

Next time we're in St Maarten I really want to get to Maho beach. We may do exactly what you did using a taxi. I do plan to show D H your pictures from Maho. He has seen pics of people who stand really close to the runway and I don't think he believes me when I tell him he won't have to be so close!

Our first cruise ever was on the Dream - in 7192! Different ship, same cabin. We really love aft cabins. We have done 3 more cruises since then, all in aft cabins! Our next cruise, back on the Dream this time in yet another aft! We do feel the vibrations back there, but I kinda like the feeling. I'm not a morning person like you so the vibrations serve as an alarm clock for me when we pull into port. It is a long walk to get to almost anywhere . That helps burn off calories!

Loved all the Cabanas pictures! Wish I was back there right nowÖ..

What a shame that you couldnít find each other for the fireworks! But Iím glad you got to see them - we missed them. *sigh*

The buffet on Pirates Night sounds great! I wish my child could have stayed awake long enough to do it!

Awesome towel animals - I donít think Iíve seen a couple of those before!

I just read your whole report. I searched for eastern Caribbean and found yours. I love it! I recently went on my first cruise on the Dream in room 7690 which is the same as your room just flip-flopped. I booked the same room on the Fantasy. Can't wait to read more!

Loving this report!

Thanks so much for these posts, I am enjoying this so much! You are so pretty in your pictures and look like you are having so much fun.
When you had dinner at Remy's which dining rotation did you skip?
We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary (with the kids) on the Fantasy next August, and plan to book Palo or Remy for a special dinner.

perfectmatch300 ~ Maho was really enjoyable to us, I hope you guys love it if you go!

RMAMom ~ I think everyone should do Remy! I still think about it 3 months later!

jesemeca ~ Welcome!

carolbeech ~ Either of the restaurants would make a lovely anniversary meal. We did both and enjoyed both, but if we had to pick just one to do again, hands down it would be Remy. Our dining rotation was AERAERA so we skipped night 3 in Royal Court for Remy and then night 5 in Enchanted Garden for Palo. I don't know if those were good nights to skip or not we just knew we wanted to be in the main dining room for formal night, pirate night and our last night, so this is how it worked out.

Someone else commented and said they knew you too, did you see that? I can't remember the user name.

Day 5/Part 1

After another not so great night of sleep I woke up a little after 6am and saw that the sun was starting to rise, so as with every other morning I headed out to the verandah to partake of the quiet beauty. This morning I actually got some of the sunrise I had been waiting for with the beautiful orange colors.

The island began to come into view and I really enjoyed looking at everything that was on the borders of these islands, I don't know if they are parts of old fortresses, houses or what, but I'm kind of nuts for anything like this.

I loved all the boats in the harbor.

Cruise 2013 1391 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Once we were docked I did a few things around the room while waiting for Brian to wake up, once he was up and ready we headed up to Cabanas for some breakfast.

Don't bother telling the cast members in charge of fruit, cheese or deli meats that you only want one or two slices, they will give you more than that and if you tell them, that's enough, you will get even more, just in case! LOL They want so much for you to be happy and full!

Cruise 2013 1412 by princessm112877, on Flickr

Cruise 2013 1413 by princessm112877, on Flickr

We didn't plan to do much in St. Thomas. We had wanted to go up the mountain on the Paradise Point tram, but it was still not operating. Our only other plans were to do some shopping and find a wifi spot to check in at home. We didn't stray far from the ship, we went to the Havensight Mall that is right there when you get off and then across the street to an Asian restaurant that offers wifi for $3 if you don't eat or free with a meal. Some people told us about a place called Mountain Top that we could have gone to, but by then we were loaded down with packages and kind of just wanted to go back to the ship and relax for awhile. We'll keep it in mind for next time though.

Cruise 2013 1395 by princessm112877, on Flickr

The taxis here were mostly pickup trucks with seats in their beds and canopies over the top. They were very willing to take you wherever you wanted to go, I think we were stopped no less than 5 times as we walked along the sidewalk and asked if we needed a ride.

Cruise 2013 1418 by princessm112877, on Flickr

The China King restaurant is right across the street from the mall. Crossing the street could be a bit daunting but people were pretty good about stopping to let you go across. We had some spring rolls and drinks while we used the wifi. It was so nice to be able to check in on Brownie, the kennel had sent us a picture of him the day before. I also got to chat with my mom and one of my friends who happened to be on Facebook while we were there. It was also nice to be out of the heat for awhile.

Cruise 2013 1419 by princessm112877, on Flickr

This was as far from the ship as we traveled!

Cruise 2013 1417 by princessm112877, on Flickr

After our snack we shopped a little more and then headed back to the ship with all our goodies and got ready to go spend some time enjoying some of the water features on board.

Day 5/Part 2

Back on the ship Brian wanted to ride the Aquaduck, I kind of wanted to ride it too but my legs were still in a lot of pain from the day before and I didn't feel up to climbing the stairs. While he was on the ride I just chilled in a lounger and kept an eye out so I could take his picture when he went by.

There he goes!

After his ride we went over to Satellite Falls to relax for awhile. I so wish we had gone here sooner, I absolutely loved it! I wanted to bring the Satellite Pool home with me. I seriously could have fallen asleep sitting in that thing. The tiled bench inside it has a curved back that was so comfortable, then the sound of the waterfall. It was so peaceful.

I don't know how long we stayed up at the falls but we eventually started to get hungry and decided to check out Flo's for lunch. It was really good for quick service food.

Cruise 2013 1448 by princessm112877, on Flickr

It started to rain while we were having lunch so we went back up to the room and watched some TV until we left port, then it was back out to the verandah to say goodbye to St. Thomas.

After we left port the ship was really starting to rock and roll. By the time we got down to the theater for that nights show you could actually feel the ship tilting back and forth. Our show this night was Buckets and Boards, these guys are AWESOME! We loved them, they are so talented and hysterical! Do not miss them if they are on your sailing!
