Character Breakfast…help me choose

We will be going to WDW in July 2014, staying at BC. In the past, I've always gone to one character breakfast during my stay, and I love them! We will be 4 adults, no kids. So far, we've narrowed the list down to 3, in no particular order:

1. Tusker House (Donald & friends)
2. Crystal Palace (Winnie the Pooh & friends)
3. Cape May Cafe (Mickey & friends)

I've looked up what kind of food is available at all 3, and the Crystal Palace seems to have the smallest (least impressive) menu. I know we are going for the atmosphere and to have a good time, but if I'm paying for a meal, I want to be able to enjoy it too.

Anyone who has recently been to any of these Character Breakfasts, please tell me how the food was, and what characters were there (I also know that the characters are subject to change).

Thanks

OUR WDW CHARACTER MEAL RANKINGS (*OCTOBER 2013*):

Best Food (quality first, then variety):
. . . Tusker House
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Ohana
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Garden Grove
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Crystal Palace
. . . Cinderella Royal Table (since new menu)
. . . Chef Mickey's

Best Character Interaction (time with guest first, then friendliness):
. . . Tusker House
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Ohana
. . . Garden Grove
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Chef Mickey's
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Cinderella Royal Table
. . . Crystal Palace (barely enough time for a photo)

Best Atmosphere (surroundings and ambiance):
. . . Cinderella Royal Table
. . . Tusker House
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . Ohana
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Crystal Palace
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Garden Grove
. . . Chef Mickey's

NOTE1: Results are listed from best to worst. Overall, Tusker House wins due to best food and
the length of time the characters stay at each table. A close second is 1900 Park Fare. By far,
Chef Mickey's is the loser, due to mediocre character interaction and almost terrible in quality.
The very distant second worst is Cinderella Royal Table, due to brief time at tables for characters
and the new menu.

NOTE2: Characters
. . . 1900 Breakfast: Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh & friends
. . . 1900 Dinner: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Step Sisters
. . . Akershus Banquet : Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine
. . . Cape May Café : Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy
. . . Chef Mickey : Mickey, Minnie, Chip-n-Dale, Goofy
. . . Cinderella Royal Table: Cinderella (downstairs), Ariel, Aurora, Snow White; (maybe Belle, Jasmine)
. . . Crystal Palace : Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet
. . . Hollywood and Vine : Disney Junior Characters
. . . Ohana : Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto
. . . Tusker House : Donald (outside only, unless heavy rain when inside), Mickey, Goofy, Daisy

We love Tusker House and Cape May Cafe! Both offer great food and wonderful character interaction. CP is nothing special in my book anymore.

If you're staying at the BC, then it's a no brainer to do Cape May. We enjoyed it when we went and wound up there twice. We also liked Tusker House as well.

We love Tusker House - the food is the best breakfast on property (especially love the tater tots)! We liked it so much during our trip in September we ended up going a second time! Characters while we were there were Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy but I have read on other threads that sometimes Minnie is subbed in for Daisy.

Been to all three

For best food it would be Tusker House.
For character interaction it would be Cape May Cafe or Crystal Palace.
For room theme it would be Tusker House, although at window table at Crystal Palace is nice.
For relaxing it would be Cape May Cafe, no rushing us at all.

We went to Cape May- enjoyed the food but felt very clustered- and I was disappointed that there was Minnie, Goofy, and Donald but no Mickey. I can't wait to try Crystal Palace for the fact that you can book it an hour before MK opens and get to take pictures in the park with no one there. How cool to have a picture of the castle with no one there! The same goes for Tusker House too I believe.

We always do a lot of character meals on our trips and out of the ones you listed our favorite is Tusker House. We love the atmosphere, food and location inside animal kingdom. The food is great and my kids love that they have donuts on the buffet. The character interaction has always been great. On our last trip we met Donald outside and then Goofy, Minnie, Daisy and Mickey inside. I think Pluto may have been there too but I'm not 100% sure. It's great too because if you book a breakfast before the park opens you'll be able to head right to the safari when you're done.

We stay at BWV and always goto Cape May for our character breakfast. We have never been to Tusker House, but we will be there at the end of January and may check it out. It's in Animal Kingdom correct?

Of those three choices, I would pick Tusker House. Better variety of food.

I have only been to Crystal Palace for Dinner, but always enjoyed that. I have heard great things about the Puffy French Toast so I am dying to try that.

I have never been to Cape May, have an ADR for this upcoming february so you might have to let me know how it is!

I went to Tusker House for the first time last January, and loved it! The food was delicious, and while I stuck to the traditional breakfast food, there were some unique choices for more adventurous eaters as well. The jungle juice alone is worth the trip!!! The character interaction was average, but getting to see Mickey without waiting in line was well worth it. We had a great waitress here as well.

Overall I guess I'd recommend Tusker House, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices. Enjoy!
