I believe that's called Schadenfreude.

I would love to be part of the project team. Operationally Disney is impressive. It would be amazing experience for the people involved to put on their CV

What kind of contracts their project team have, nobody knows whats coming for sure? There must be some serious confidentiality agreements. We need wiki leaks here!!! We need to know

we are booked to go next October staying onsite. We had great time last year. I will admit I like Universal and the night we stayed at HRH more, and booked 4 nights next time. It won't bother me too much to cancel Disney tbh, but I suspect I will be way too curious by then to do so! I only booked onsite after I read for Disney Nextgen. How sad????

If I wasn't living on different continent I will be sending my cv asking for job in their change management team daily!
You know, I completely understand where you're coming from!

I don't know if it's sad or not, but I'm totally there.

Like someone just posted on another thread, "unless people start complaining to Disney about the service they wont know there's a problem".

If everyone decides to become astonishingly grateful no matter what they are paying, Disney will make even more cuts. And why shouldn't they?

If Disney is going to eventually allow everybody to use FP+ the had on choice but to limit how many major attractions each person could get in a day. Not everybody can ride every major attraction. Now people will get there for RD for one major attraction and have a FP+ for their second one. I really dislike having to plan what park I want to be in every single day. But it won't stop us from going to Disney.

I think you are right, but this totally defeats the best part of FP+ for me anyway..not having to make RD. I hate RD If I have to make RD, then they can just bring back the paper FPs.

I gotta admit it. I've been residing on the planet 47 years and have never heard the word "Schadenfreude" so I had to look it up. What a pretty looking & sounding word for such an ugly concept!

Are people actually complaining to Disney, or are they just posting about it here? Writing to Disney may actually accomplish something useful. They NEED your feedback!

But venting here is, at best, nothing more than a way to release emotional tension... except then some people validate you and some people argue with you, and the end result can sometimes be just more unhappiness over all.

FWIW, I haven't seen anyone suggesting we should all become "astonishingly grateful", only that it's better to withhold judgement until the product is finished.

In a similar vein, we were lucky enough to experience one of the soft openings for the revamped Test Track. I enjoyed it overall, but found the breaking system downright painful. So when a gentleman in a suit, carrying a clipboard, approached us and asked what I thought, I told him, "My neck hurts!" He wrote it down, and sure enough, the next time I rode, after the ride had been officially launched, the braking system was a whole lot better. Still a bit jarring, perhaps, but it doesn't make my head snap forward on my neck, so I'm happy.

I didn't bother writing about it here, because what would be the point? Test Track was still a work in progress. If the problem with the braking had persisted past the official launch, then I likely would have written something to warn other folks with back or neck issues.

It's a human concept. I'm not feeling it over this particular situation, but every time I see another story about Mayor Rob Ford I feel heaps of it!

So, I cancelled our FP+ selections for 12/1 and I was able to get the same ones back at better times. TT, Soarin, Disney Pals

I'm not sure I even understand the point of booking any of the Level 2 attractions. I can honestly say, except for Mission Space, I've never used a FP at ANY of those, and I've never had an issue. The waits are never bad.

First World Problems or not, people certainly have the right to be doubtful and worried about their trips. Only they can decide if the new system will work for them and personally I'm undecided at this time. I will continue to ask questions and discuss and whatever else until I feel like I know something. I'll try to stay positive but I won't hesitate to voice any doubts (or praise).

I'm sorry if this bothers anyone. (Not)

Have you been during peak times. Just curious, as those attractions do get very busy at certain times.

Where are you staying?

As to the comments some have made about complaining to Disney, its a test and unless you are there participating in the test, your comments will fall on deaf ears.

All I can say is that this entire FP+ mess makes the wait until Jan '15 a little easier. Hopefully it's ironed out by then.

And yes, it's amusing and I'm glad it's not me... but I feel terrible for people who are planning their first time and for people who like to go commando to the parks like I do. I know I'd be frustrated if I were them.

Imagine what will happen when they figure out they can vary admission prices based on the tiers of rides available on the MB-associated...

It's like Back to the Future, where you could have an "E-ticket Experience," an "ABC-Ticket Experience," or a "No-Rides -- Shopping and Dining Only Experience"...
