TS at Epcot

Eying to decide where to eat at Epcot. Looking at the Illusions packages. Coral Reef or Garden Grille? We aren't big seafood people but there is steak and chicken so that's not a huge problem. Any advice to either or other recommendations?

What is an Illutions package? I have never heard of any dining package at Epcot other than the Christmas time Candlelight Processional packages.

Well I could be mistaken. I thought it said it was for illusions too. It is under the candlelight processional package. I was hoping I could do this.

I have been to Coral Reef and really enjoyed it, we are seafood people though. However, I do think the atmosphere would win you over even if you don't eat seafood. Haven't been to GG yet but do have a reservation for our December trip and really excited about it. Have fun!

The Candlelight Dinner Package includes admission to a special viewing area for IllumNations. In years past, the special area has been between the two gift shops at the junction of Future World and the World Showcase. It's a very nice spot to view IllumiNations.

We enjoy GG. It is a relaxed character meal with fun interactions, good food & an interesting atmosphere. Have been twice & will go again. We went to CR years ago but weren't impressed & haven't been back, partially because reviews aren't great. If you have kids, I would def say GG.

Enjoy your trip!

I would pick GG over Coral Reef. The past two times we have been there it just didn't thrill us and with limiting yourself to just the chicken and steak dishes would make me want to go with GG. Is there no other restaurants open in the World Showcase?

Tough choice. CR has a great atmosphere and pretty good food and we've had better meals at GG. The ambience isn't as cool.

These are probably the last two restaurants in Epcot that I would pick, honestly. It's basically a choice of meh versus meh. Coral Reef probably has slightly better food, but if you aren't a seafood eater- which is what it does best (although it's best isn't outstanding)- I'd go for Garden Grill, probably. It has meh food as well, but the character interaction is pretty decent and the moving restaurant is a nice enough quirk... though CR's aquarium is also nice enough.

I consider them both 'gimmick' restaurants... I wouldn't really go to either for the food. It's more of, what do you like more, a huge aquarium or a character dinner to me then anything.

I agree with the post above. Those are the last two restaurants I would pick in Epcot. I did not like Garden Grill at all. Coral Reef had been a favorite of mine for years (we are big fish/seafood eaters). The restaurant has gone downhill. We were there in May and hated it.

Highly agree with previous two posts! I would say Coral is the lesser of two evils.
