Character Meals

What are your favorite character meals? Our DD will be four and we will be staying for a week. She loves the princesses! We figure we will do CRT & Akershus. What else would you suggest? We have already been to Goofy's Beach Club at Cape May Cafe & The Crystal Palace.
Thanks so much!!

Hands down Arkershus!!!

best palce for Princess meet n' greet meals. Good food and great selection of princess's.

Have a great trip

Runner ups are:

Chef Mickey's for the FAB 5

And my personal favorite 1900 park fair. (I really love this one because of the Strawberry soup, however the Step mother and Sisters are the best. They usually do a great job interacting with the guest Cinderella and the prince are ok too.)

We love Tusker House. First the food is really a step up from most other buffets and they have some unique items. I'm not a buffet fan and tusker is the only one I will eat at. Second, you get Mickey, Donald, goofy, and Daisy which my daughter loves.

Thanks so much! I keep reading great things about breakfast and dinner at 1900 Park Fair, the Garden Grill & Tusker House. However, I am reading conflicting reviews about Chef Mickey's. I love that the fab five are there and that is a huge selling point for me. But what about is keeping some people away? On the other hand, I feel that it is a must since we have never been there and my DD would be star struck by some of her favorite characters all in one spot!

OUR WDW CHARACTER MEAL RANKINGS (*OCTOBER 2013*):

Best Food (quality first, then variety):
. . . Tusker House
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Ohana
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Garden Grove
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Crystal Palace
. . . Cinderella Royal Table (since new menu)
. . . Chef Mickey's

Best Character Interaction (time with guest first, then friendliness):
. . . Tusker House
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Ohana
. . . Garden Grove
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Chef Mickey's
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Cinderella Royal Table
. . . Crystal Palace (barely enough time for a photo)

Best Atmosphere (surroundings and ambiance):
. . . Cinderella Royal Table
. . . Tusker House
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . Ohana
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Crystal Palace
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Garden Grove
. . . Chef Mickey's

NOTE1: Results are listed from best to worst. Overall, Tusker House wins due to best food and
the length of time the characters stay at each table. A close second is 1900 Park Fare. By far,
Chef Mickey's is the loser, due to mediocre character interaction and almost terrible in quality.
The very distant second worst is Cinderella Royal Table, due to brief time at tables for characters
and the new menu.

NOTE2: Characters
. . . 1900 Breakfast: Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh & friends
. . . 1900 Dinner: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Step Sisters
. . . Akershus Banquet : Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine
. . . Cape May Café : Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy
. . . Chef Mickey : Mickey, Minnie, Chip-n-Dale, Goofy
. . . Cinderella Royal Table: Cinderella (downstairs), Ariel, Aurora, Snow White; (maybe Belle, Jasmine)
. . . Crystal Palace : Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet
. . . Hollywood and Vine : Disney Junior Characters
. . . Ohana : Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto
. . . Tusker House : Donald (outside only, unless heavy rain when inside), Mickey, Goofy, Daisy

Garden Grill, Garden Grove, and Chef Mickey's are our favorites. We also love Cape May but I saw you listed that already.

Another vote for Chef Mickey's. I don't understand what people complain about. The food is your standard buffet fare. I've been twice and the characters have spent a good amount of time at the table.
It's an easy way to see the Fab 5!!!

We loved Hollywood and Vine at DHS. My girls love all the characters there and the characters spend a ton of time with the kids, more than our only other character dining experience at Tusker House.

We just got back last week. I have an almost 3 year old princess.
We did: Akershus, CRT, Chef Mickey's, Tuskar house, & 1900 park fare.

My daughter enjoyed 1900 park fare the most. She loves prince charming. We also enjoyed the character interactions there the most! The step sisters really are very funny. I felt like we had the most time with characters here.

Tuskar house had the best food in my opinion. Loved the breakfast buffet. The characters felt somewhat rushed.

Chef Mickey's we had good character interactions. Minnie Mouse loved my 7month old, because she was dressed like her. I thought it was fine, I'd do it again.

Akershus is good food and the princesses were great. There's a little parade they can participate in. I felt like the princesses took their time. We had breakfast there.

I thought CRT was way over priced (we have done it twice). I don't think it's worth it, and this would be the one I would skip in the future. Our server was wonderful, but I did not care much for the food or the princesses here. To me it's more "we ate in the castle", than anything else. Akerhaus is far better.

I agree! I've always said for CRT you pay 1 credit for your food and 1 credit to say you ate in the castle.

Chef Mickeys is huge, loud, and in my opinion pretty chaotic. The food is also standard hotel quality buffet, which is fine when it's cheap but for the cost is horrifically overpriced. I know you are paying doe the interactions but you can get most of the same characters for less money and higher quality food at Tusker House.

Chef mickey was all right. The best interactions by far was Garden Grill. Plus my kids got a big kick out of eating in a rotating restaurant.
