All Star Music or split stay with AofA?

I just booked 10 nights at ASMu for the end of Jan. I'm so excited! It will have been 2.5 years since our last trip and we used to be regulars, so we are so happy to be returning!

We love ASMu and have primarily always stayed there, with the exception of a couple of stays at CBR. CBR is beautiful, but so spread out and not worth it to us for the additional cost.

If I split up our stay, it adds about $200.00 to the cost. That's not a big deal, and I would love to see the new resort. We've done a split stay before and I know Disney is really good about moving you.

I suppose I'm just wondering if it's worth the extra time to check out, and check in. I don't want to lose much park time since we've not been there in awhile.

I love your idea, it's not that much added cost, and you get to experience the AofA resort. I've done a split stay, it was not a big deal at all not much down time. I feel that the more resorts you experience, the happier you will be. Some folks like settling in and not moving.

I am not one of those when it comes to WDW!

I've done a split stay twice.

One time it took over 70 minutes to check in to the second resort, so I felt as though I lost good chunk of time.

But that is really the only negative possibility.

Are you booked in a regular room or a family suite?

We have stayed in a family suite in both, and there really isn't a whole lot of difference between the two (layout wise). AOA definitely has 'theming' in the room. the big difference to us is the landscaping and the rest of the resort.

If you will be spending most of your time in the parks, I would say don't bother. If you will be spending time AT the resort, then it would definitely be worth the transfer.

We are booked in just a regular room. I think I'm going to do the split stay! I'm hoping for AP's on this trip too, so that a second trip will happen within 12 months.
