Suggest a Hotel for One-Night Stay Before Checking into POR next week

Hi,
we are leaving next Thurs, 10/17 for our 2nd Disney trip - just me, hubby and 7-year-old DD. We need a hotel for one night on 10/17 before we check into POR on 10/18. Can anyone recommend a nice, clean and cheap place to stay for just one night? I've looked and looked at travel sites but there are so many it's overwhelming - we won't arrive until 5-6pm on Thursday so we really just need a nice, clean place to sleep and shower. A pool and nearby restaurant for dinner/bfast would be a bonus.

Would love a recommendation. And did I mention CHEAP?

Thanks
Cristi

We typically stay at Pop Century for one night before checking into our primary resort.

The Hyatt Regency at the airport is really nice. They have a pool, and you can also watch planes taking off/landing from your room if you request the airport view. That is fun for the kids. You can hop on the Magical Express in the morning to take you to Disney Resort. Also - the concierge there will retrieve your luggage for you if you want and deliver it to your room. It's very convenient to walk off the jet bridge and head straight to a nice room.

Thanks. I should've added we'll be driving, so we'll have a car.

We stayed at POP last time and really liked it but it's a little more than we want to pay for one night for just sleeping and showering. I am looking for super cheap. But clean. Is that a tall order? Under $100.

You might get better replies if you post your question in the Orlando Area Hotel thread here.

Buena Vista Palace -- it is right around the corner -- a really nice hotel and they are running a fall special.

When are you traveling? We are going in January and got a 20% off room discount. I think it's like $87.20 for the night. So that would fit your under $100 criteria.

I am sure many of the hotels on INTERNATIONAL DRIVE would be a great choice....since you are out of the park for a few hours, you could do something non-Disney the first night... lots of things to do...check out the mall with the discount disney store too, before you head to the parks... last visit i got a denim mickey shirt, a mickey polo and a henley with mickey all for $27.. i am sure you cannot go wrong on international drive...they are in such competition for disney guests i am sure you will find something...first time we stayed at a COMFORT INN IN LAKE BUENA VISTA DRIVE. WAS OK continental breakfast, but the disney transportation was terrible...but first trip, didnt have a car, or a driver (2 non drivers, first trip for both) but the hotel was nice clean and quiet. i would look for a name you know... COMFORT INN, HOLIDAY INN RAMADA ETC. good luck

We are doing that in Nov and staying at AOA however the night before that one we are staying at the Clarion Lake Buena Vista we have stayed there before for one night the room was clean and beds comfotable it did not have breakfast because we didn't need it and we just wanted something cheap for our trip in Nov we got is for about 45.00 after taxes go to choice hotels website and click on the 30% off discount. I am sure others have probably had not so great reviews but we had not problems we also booked the same hotel another time but when we checked in they didn't have a room for us and sent us to Shingle Creek which is a Luxury Golf resort and we stayed in the Hospitality Suite for free and it was almost bigger than our house. Good luck with whatever you decide and have a great trip!

Thanks everyone! We leave next Thurs so prices at POP are around $110+.

I have been looking at both Clarion LBV and BV Palace so good to hear reviews. I think we are leaning toward one of those. I mean, it's just one night and a short stay!

I think we actually stayed at that Comfort Inn you mentioned last trip but we arrived at midnight and I don't remember much about it. Room was fine but hubby says no to it again b/c he said in the daylight the hotel looked really run-down.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I try one of the value resorts. The all stars tend to be a bit cheaper then pop b/c of county taxes just as an FYI.

Thanks everyone. I ended up booking the Clarion Lake Buena Vista for $69 a night. The reviews were all good and a pp said they liked it and it's only from 6pm-8am so even if it's terrible, we can stand it for that short amount of time. But it looks fine. Didn't really want to waste $ on another Disney resort for such a short time frame when most of it will be spent eating dinner and going to bed!

Thanks for the help to everyone, can't wait to be at POR in one week from today!
