How can we visit the resorts without actually staying/eating there?

We are locals now (just moved here right behind the Magic Kingdom) and would love to visit all of the resorts and see the inside and explore a bit. But we don't want to stay or eat there, just explore.

Is there a way to do this? We found that when we pulled up to the security gate at Animal Kingdom, they asked if we had a reservation there to let us in. Why can't we just visit?

Any advice?

Ethan

If you did so over the last few days, it could be that as it is a holiday weekend they are restricting parking. Usually they will issue a 3 hour parking pass if you are visiting a resort.

Yes tell security you are going to eat or shop at the resort shop and they will let you in just show picture identification.

We have always just told the security that we are taking a look around around for possible stays in the future and have had no problems. Often times they will even give us a resort map. Or the concierge desk in the lobby will.

In my opinion, in each deluxe (and some moderate) there is always at least one great restaurant ... So, by just visiting without eating, you would be missing the best part!

You shouldn't have any trouble getting in by just telling the guard you want to visit and check out the resort. A lot of people like to explore the resorts without staying there or even staying on property.

We visit several resorts each trip. We never have a problem if we just tell the guard we are just checking out the resort. BTW, I haven't been given a 3 hour pass in about 7 years. When we used to get them it was only at CR and Poly.
