resort hopping effect on MBs and FP+ ??

We are planning an upcoming trip the coming holiday season and are considering resort hopping between 2, maybe even 3 resorts over our stay.

For those with some knowledge/experience of the current MB or FP+ system, if we were to get, say a 5 day park hopper to go with that and still stay on Disney resorts, how does that effect things? Will the FP+ just be tied to your tickets?

Also, as a layer complication, we may jump on a 3 night cruise on the Dream but on the back end, be interested in visiting a Disney park with a leftover day - do we have to check back into a Disney resort to make the FP+ option available?

Thanks in advance to any guidance in this area....

Yes the FP are a separate part they will not be affected by a resort change. No the FP+ is usable anytime as long as you have a active park ticket it doesn't matter if have a resort reservation or not. The only thing that does matter is the initial resort reservation once you have that you can use them whenever and wherever for the rest of your lives.
