Fort wilderness cabins or asmu

Currently booked at AoA, but hoping to use the new s/p/d promotion. Since it seems even the family suites AoA will be excluded from s/p/d, I am thinking of changing our resort to either the cabins or ASmu. Any advice on either of these options?

Thx

Haven't stayed in Cabins for a while but a big for them . Lots to do depending on time you have. Love Ft Wilderness (hence the name !)
Of course ,bottom line is your in WDW so no worries either way !

Depends - the cabins are more laid back while ASMu is more crazy. Here is an old review I did of both. We go often and given the choice, we will always choose the cabins. Park at our front door, nothing above or around you to make noise, lots of trees and nature, quiet, full kitchen, just wonderful. But bus rides are longer, only one bathroom.

Here's the review: this was after our first time staying at both, and it was during the "Celebrate" promotion, so that's why I reference celebrations a little more than you would normally expect.

I also think that the prices are similar so you can't really use prices as a determinig factor.

We stay at both...and like both a lot.

I just wanted to add that when we stay at the cabins it ends up costing a bit more because we feel that renting a golf cart to get around is a must.

We stayed at the cabins in Jan and it worked for us! 4 adults and 1 infant. We debated between there and AoA. The dining plan at the cabins in the regular one I believe (that is the one we got with free dining). We did not rent a cart and it was fine. We never waited more than 2 minutes for an internal bus. Never had a long wait for a park bus and there is a boat that goes to MK. You can also watch the fireworks from the beach and they pipe in the music!!!

It was nice having a private area too, so no outside noise. We were fine with 1 bathroom, but I'm not sure what your family size is.

The cabins are gorgeous. I would pick Fort Wilderness over a Value resort 600 times. No question here.

Thanks for the replies. Can you use the Quick Service dining plan with the cabins?

I've stayed at both and would chose the ASMu suites. Bus service is much better at ASMu. Quick and easy access to a food court at ASMu. Queen bed in bedroom at ASMu. 2 bathrooms at ASMu.

There is no QS restaurant at FW. What you can do is make breakfast in the cabin and eat QS at the parks. Also, there is a dedicated boat to the CR and WL which both have QS locations.

Oh, and add me to the list of people who have stayed at FW more then a dozen times and never rented a Golf cart. We think the internal buses are pretty convenient.

With stay, play, dine, I read that you have to get regular or deluxe dining plan with the cabins because it is a moderate level resort.

ASMu suites, you would get the discount on Quick Service Plan, but you can pay more to upgrade
